President's Cup

The 2010 GOAT, May 15, 2010 – Camp Fortune Disc Golf Course

The fourth event in the 2010 Presidents Cup Race, will take place at the Camp Fortune Disc Golf Course, on May 15, 2010, in the beautiful Gatineau Park, Quebec.

The GOAT, TD’d by Mike McCormick, (un)officially opens the disc golf season at the ODGC Camp Fortune Disc Golf Course. A low cost, “for the glory” tournament, The GOAT encourages good times and great competition on the mountain.

In the fall, Mike also runs “Falling Colours”, also at Camp Fortune (October 2, 2010). His dedication to running these tournaments has allowed us to enjoy this challenging mountain course in a fun and competitive atmosphere.

Geoff Penton wins the Presidents Cup

The ODGC’s 2009 Presidents Cup Series came to a close on Saturday, November 21 at Flat Mountain Disc Golf Course.

Geoff Penton ended his run for the 2009 Presidents Cup in style by winning the Ottawa Match Play League III – his sixth tier 2 win of the year. Geoff finished with 2550 points, 376 points over second place finisher, Carl Visser, and 525 over third place, Eric Vinet.

The Club is also proud to recognize this year’s Bourgie Saucer Race winner, Andrew Vallee, for the improvement he’s made to his game and his dedication to the sport and the Club. This award was named after ODGC President Paul Bourgeois who developed the handicap system for the Tuesday Night League (TOSS). The system levels the playing and provides players with an easy way to measure their improvement.

The inaugural PC Series saw 32 ODGC members (and 13 non-current ODGC members) compete in 10 events, run by 6 TDs, on 7 temporary and permanent disc golf courses, from February to November.

Now that’s alotta golf!
