It's time to get the 2012 Tuesday League underway,
and we're going to start the season with
TOSS 2012 [1] / QB Challenge 1.1
May 1st
at The Shire.
All disc golfers are welcome!
Tournament Central is the garage, and
The round starts at 6:15.
BE AT THE SHIRE BY 6:00PM TO REGISTER!
Fees are $5
Shire Greenfees are $5
Exact change appreciated.
This week's TD: Mark Atos

Details about TOSS 2012 [1]:
  • The field is open to a maximum of 27 players. Pre-register to guarantee your spot!
  • TOSS is operating an Ace Pool as a fundraiser for the Capital Classic 2012. $2.00 gets you in the pool, with $1.00 from each entry going to the Capital Classic. Ace pools not won carry over to the following week's TOSS event. See Mark Atos for more details.
  • Directions to The Shire: From the 417, take Carp Rd Exit North off the Queensway. Turn Left at lights on to Richardson Side. Go to the end, at the stop sign turn Right on to Beavertail. Go to the end and left on to Old Amonte Rd. The Shire is at 3489 Old Amonte Rd. look for the Baskets on the right side. Count on 50 minutes from downtown Ottawa given traffic on the highway recently.
  • There isn't going to be enough daylight to start after 6:15. Allow time for traffic in your commute to the Shire.
  • This event takes place at the Ultimate Disc Golf Store warehouse: You'll be in one of the best places in Canada to pick up all of the plastic that you need for a great season of great disc golf.
  • If you haven't paid for your 2012 ODGC membership yet, members of the ODGC executive committee will be on hand to receive your fees / dues at the Shire.

EDIT: Please note the following information regarding course layout and Out of Bounds:
- Regular Shire Hole 7 is CLOSED. We will be playing the course in the following manner: 1, 2, BigMan 16, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 9. (Your score cards will reflect this) For those that aren't aware, BigMan 16 tees off from East of Hole 3 Long Tees, and plays to the Mound East and slightly North of the Halloween Tree.
- Mando: Hole 5 has a mando off the tee. Your drive must pass between the two trees that are marked with tape.
- All Tee pads will be marked with flags. Your supporting points of contact must be behind the plane defined by the flags, and within an imaginary box extending 12 feet back perpendicularly from the line defined by the flags.
- Out of Bounds: All driveways, all roads, anywhere on the front lawn East of the driveway, East of the line of trunks that make up the hedge on hole 8 (this also applies to those attempting to throw the reverse on 3 or BigMan 16. YOUR DRIVE MUST CROSS THIS PLANE TO BE IN-BOUNDS), all gardens, all rooftops, anywhere on the pool deck or in the pool, inside the barn or garage.
- When dead walking from 6 to 8 please do not walk on 7 fairway. Walk back down the driveway, and cross the back of 9 green to access the teepad for 8. Violators of this rule, if caught, will be assessed a two stroke penalty, without warning. (You may still, without penalty, retrieve ob discs from the lawn, but must return to the driveway to proceed to the teepad for hole 8.)
- I understand that the layout we are presented with will probably cause some flow problems. I apologize for this, but let us all be grateful that Rob lets us TOSS at the Shire.

Special thanks to Rob Wormald and the Ultimate Disc Golf Store for helping us start another TOSS season at this private course. Kicking things off at The Shire has become a tradition for the Tuesday league.

So play Bigman 16 then walk right back to almost the same tee and play hole 3? No issue with people playing 2 while people play bigman 16?

I predict major congestion......if we are going back onto that land anyways it would be better to play the Big man hole that goes east from basket 2 to that big pine tree in the field
