Join us on Saturday, September 10th 2011 for the Big Cup Challenge to be held on Ile Charron in Longueuil (next to Iles de Boucherville).

3 rounds of DiscGolf on a wonderful and challenging course!
Pat Huot will be there defending his title and his cup for the 3rd year in a row. Come and get it if you can!

All th info here
Registration is open : click here

This is what it's all about!

The ADGM is a NPO and for the sake of transparency in its management, here's more information on the use of registration fees for disc golf tournaments organized by the ADGM.

Development Fund
$ 10 for each registration is paid to the ADGM in its development fund
With this fee ADGM that provides funding for its promotion and development of disc golf in Montreal.

This fee is fair for every player regardless of their level of play: the share received for the development of disc golf is the same regardless of your class.

Operating costs
The $ 5 collected from non-member players in tournaments is the operating costs of ADGM (insurance, website, Bank ,...).

ADGM members are exempt, they have already contributed through their annual dues.

Extra money received
The rest of the money collected (if available) is returned to players as prizes: final ranking and skill competitions.
Examples:

Junior and Recreation: $ 0 surplus, to keep the entrance fee as low as possible.
Rewards and players packs for beginners and juniors are the costs budgeted annually by the ADGM (to ensure the lowest possible cost).

That is, they are managed over the year, not tournament tournament as the number of participants in these categories can vary up to threefold depending on the season, while the cost of awards is fixed for the years (the first three of the category).

The players offered packages for beginners and juniors are a promotion method used by the ADGM to promote the attraction and retention of new players.

am1, am2, aw: $ 10 surplus by participants. In addition to the category am / aw includes male and female players, in addition to the number of players winning is high for this category. Minimum award: the first three (first 4 from 10 players, five from the first 14 players)

Open: $ 25 per participant surplus: in addition to the Open category includes male and female players, in addition to the amount of reward is high.
All $ are used for final classification (there is no contest of skill for players of the Open category): this is a way to reward the best the top rankings and thus encourage players to compete (see distribution table)

If you have questions regarding the use of fees, please contact us: This e-mail info@adgm.ca Address is Being protected from spambots. You Need JavaScript enabled to view it

I'm 50/50 attending this one, but won't know my weekend work schedule until about Wednesday.

Is there any chance I could get a ride with someone, if I'm able to make it?

As a member of the club I would be interested to hear an answer for B. He's got a point.

Bee, if you click on the link to the tournament, at the bottom of the page they have a link to Other informations: details on the usage of the tournament fees by the ADGM. The following is the text translated to English by Google:

Ah sorry.

I hadn't realized the shift in ODGC policy. Times were the TD had to be upfront and outright about the beneficiary. Links, inferrences, allusions, and hieroglyphics were never appropriate substitutes.

When did this policy change?

Since the policy and its subsequent alteration affects everyone who is not a member of the ODGC, was there ever an idea to publicize said amendment?

As a dedicated user and admirer of this forum I greatly enjoy playing by the rules. I appreciate all facets of this site and I wish to see all users similarly respect the rules.

Thank you for the transparency and communication. This new breeze blowing is fresher than Febreez! GO ODGC!

Open

Dario 105
Pat 110
Mark D 113
Gab 116
Shimon 119
Don L 119 (ottawa)
Ben T 119
Mike 121 (ottawa)
Richard 122
Peter 125

And Adam came 7th in the AM2

They had 59 people at this tournament, many people out for their first tournament ever. Fun course, they are expecting baskets to be in the ground for next year.

The winner of the cup is a Yank who just moved to Mtl from Spokane, Washington. He moved here with his lady partner.

I'm keeping the back of the short bus warm, holding my place as DFL of AM2.

It was a diverse array of players, which provided for an enriching tournament experience. There were lots of families and new comers who came out for this.

I had a great time meeting new people and getting seeing some familiar faces.

The terrain of the island allows for an awesome course.

I especially liked the three 12-hole-round format.

I have yet to see full results. But if you go to the ADGM site, one of the posting is pictures of the event and the person who took the pictures took ones of the cards.
