Unofficial results will be available about as soon as the TD submits them to the PDGA. Question for Carl:

Are you using the unofficial results, or the official (post update) results?

Once Roxietwirly copies the results in from the PDGA results form to the PDGA site, it should come up with a solid estimate of the rated rounds, and we'll then have a pretty good idea of who will win it. We'll know for sure though on the 12th, as the round estimates rarely come in exactly the same.

I am pretty sure they'll have to be official results. Why would they use unofficial results?

The only problem with using the results post-update is that the round results from the CC will have an influence on player's ratings. So, the question is, what is the baseline rating to be used.

If it is the player's rating on Saturday morning? If so, you'd better grab them now (oh, you already have them)...

Official results would have to be used. Unofficial ones will just point to the leading prospect.

I don't see a problem, as it would most likely compare static stats:

Final rated rounds when the tournament becomes official vs. the player's rating immediately prior to the tournament.

(R1 + R2 + R3 + R4) / 4 <---> Pre-tournament rating

I would hope that they are using the ratings that we entered the tournament at vs our average round rating. Anything else doesn't make sense.

Got my fingers crossed.

So, will the unofficial results be posted prior to the July 12th update?

Serge has got the USDGC spot for sure. He's 872 rated!!!! When was his last pdga event? When he was 18?? Crazy......

Ottawa needs to offer more PDGA events to get peoples ratings more representative of their skill level. Especially if you're hosting a rating based qualifier.

The disappointment is setting in Crying or Very sad

Are you done venting Scotty? sly wink

If serge wins the spot he deserves it because he played great.
(hopefully he can make it if he does win it)
TBH his 872 rating is a bit low for his skill level but it's not far off what it should be.

Ottawa may only have one PDGA event but we've only got one world class course
in the city (not counting ettyville) so we're a bit limited in that respect.

I agree that because we held a ratings based qualifier it would have been
ideal if everyone's PDGA rating was of fair representation of ones play
but it'll never happen that way and you know it.

Not venting, but just inquiring,

Whats the holdup on posting the results to the PDGA website?

Only 3 of the other 34 events from that weekend have not uploaded their results.

The guy doing the drum-roll to announce the USDGC spot winner is starting to tire...

It would also be great (and a lot easier) for us if we had the numbers that the GTA has.

No offense to Serge at all...Sorry if it came across that way. He did play a great tournament. I mean he tied Paul Michel who is 947 rated, props to Serge.

But an 872 rating is a rec player rating, and he is clearly not a rec player. Andros, if by a bit low you mean by 10-15 points then that is still quite a difference when it comes to ratings. I would think that if all Ottawa tournaments were rated he would be closer to the 900+ level which is a huge difference. I could have had another 10-12 strokes on him and he still would have killed me as far as the ratings are concerned.

And don't get me wrong I am happy that the USDGC qualifier was at the CC cause it made for a great turn out at one of my favorite tournaments. I realize your limitations with numbers and courses can be tough. Just means you NCR folks gotta travel some more. I've been to Ottawa twice already this year and I'm coming back at the end of the month for Ettyville (obviously). We would love to see some more of you out here in the GTA for tournaments. The DGI is coming up in just under two weeks if you're itching for a trip.

okay okay.....Done venting. I was just counting my chickens before they were flying to South Carolina. Then I saw Serge's rating and my USDGC hopes were shattered. Lesson learned.

Serge buddy if you got it, GO FOR IT! Keep playing the way you did against P.M. and you'll clean house down there. Hope to see ya in Ettyville.

BTW: Is the plaid jacket PDGA sanctioned? Because that is your other tournament class course.
