Good Job OMR
http://www.emckanata.ca/20110630/sports/Disc+Golf+league+spins+its+way+into+Kanata
I am really curious how many people will show up. With PS3 DG and growing awareness we could see 20+ noobs. A practice basket is not a bad idea so kids can group putt away from course play. Gotta have flow.
I will make it out there at some point. Kazutoki Umezu Kiki Band tonight. |

A combination of the weather being a bit crap at first, might've scared some off, & it being the night before the long weekend.... We ended up w only 2 new guys...

The first Rec League of the year.
We got a bit of rain. Mostly a dry rain, but enough to bring out the bugs for the rest of the night. Not optimal.
A total of eight players came out for the night. I didn't play, which ended up working out because just as the cards were going out, a couple showed up asking about the sport. The gentleman has been playing disc golf on the PS3 all winter, and not to put too fine a point on it, he's positively giddy to give it a try in real life.
As Thumber mentioned, two new players came out. One a few of you have met at Kanata and the other had never even held a disc before.
Old Man had best score for the night, winning and then donating a DX Eagle.
Ben nailed a sweet putt on #9 for longest putt, winning and then donating back a Gateway Magic.
Aidrian (I hope I've got this right; I'll make sure when I get home), on his first time out, came away as Most Honest Golfer, winning a soft Banger GT. _________________ 1020 rated lunch preparationist |

I want to make a special mention about the prizes.
We're able to have more than one prize each night thanks to the generous donations of some of our Club members.
Andros and the Ice Bowl very generously provided a stack of brand new Ice Bowl stamped Gateway Magics.
Surge kindly donated a Stratus and a few other great beginner discs.
Jess maganimously added a sizable pile, not the least of which is a sweet sweet 166 star Valkyrie which I will totally not keep for myself.
Adam was also in the giving spirit, putting up, amongst other discs, a lightweight Aviar.
Thank you all so much for your contributions. _________________ 1020 rated lunch preparationist |
