I think you can add Dwayne Bereziuk to the field as well, since he's crashing at my place, and I'm picking him up at the airport Friday morning...

I am working all angles to make this happen. Buying my mother-in-law a train ticket to visit for the weekend and taking Friday off work. That should about do it. I will be seeking transport from somewhere along Montreal RD/Rideau St.

Bring on the mountain.

Where does it say that it's an extra 10 bucks? On the front page it just says that to win the USDGC spot you need to be a current PDGA Member with a rating.

I've paid this in the past, but it doesn't mention it?

That's the PDGA non-member fee.

http://www.pdga.com/supporting

And:

Quote:
I am a Supporting member, but am confused on what that means exactly. Can you explain?

A Supporting member is a non-active PDGA member who receives a PDGA # to use when competing in sanctioned events. You are "supporting" the PDGA and its efforts to attract corporate sponsors. Tracking and providing a more realistic number of those competing will move us closer to our goal. Sponsors/Media are looking for that big number and we know we can provide them with this and spark their interest. In addition, by using your PDGA number in events the PDGA will be happy to track your points and stats as a competitor. When you do decide to become an active member, this collected information will be visible to you online. Until active, you will be required to continue paying the $10 non-active member fee at sanctioned PDGA events.

Please remember this is a PDGA event. It will follow the PDGA Rule book. Read it. Know it. Carry it.

Here is a printable copy:
http://www.pdga.com/files/documents/PDGA_Rules_CompetitionManual_Combined_2011.pdf

Twirly will have some for sale at the CC.

Just like an OD Tour event promises a set of standards that you would expect (a phenomenal time, great competition, kicking tunes and a party atmosphere), a PDGA event also promises a set of standards. A PDGA event is an invitation to the disc golf world to play in Ottawa.

If you have a question during the event, ask or refer to the Rule Book.

Sincerely,
Your dad

FTFY. If you are current then you don't pay the $10.

While on the subject of fees, regarding ODSA insurance. I stole this from one of Paul's FAQ from past CC.

I count three sanctioning organizations. Why so many, and how will this affect my registration?

Membership in the ODSA provides us with insurance coverage. Your membership in the ODSA as an insured member is necessary to play in this event. If you are already an insured member, great! Otherwise, you will be able to register with the ODSA when you register for the Capital Classic. The cost is $8 and is separate from your Capital Classic registration fee.

Membership in the PDGA is necessary for all players that are not participating in the junior division. You must provide proof of membership with the PDGA, or purchase a temporary membership for the Capital Classic. The cost for a temporary membership is $10 and is separate from your Capital Classic registration fee.

ODGC membership is not necessary to play in the Capital Classic.
