So, even though I'm willing and able to play any time this month other than the last weekend of April, I could get screwed by the Home player?

Not if you state your case to me at the end of April. There are 3 choices:
1.You file a protest (a PM is fine, not too officical now)
2. You agree to play the game late and finish the rest of your schedule.
3. you dont end up playing, no one complains no one is at fault.

What your saying is kind of where C-Kyle is coming from, and I agree there is a flaw in the rules, here..thats why we need some ideas.

What you and jess need to do is to play the match sometime in april when the 2 of you can. If its not not on the specific course one might not want it on, because of timing in your lives, these are your choices.

My thoughts are that the only person who should be penalized is the Home player as they are the ones with the most control of the situation. If the Home player makes the case that the Away player was the cause then further action should be taken. Also, my original interpretation of the rule was flawed in that you do not have to play all of your matches to make the playoffs, you just need to play them all for the late score to count. So, if you play your April game late you still only need to play 4/5 of the rest to make the playoffs.

Your right, the home player does have more responsobility but the away player can run too. Each case will have its own events,

This is my hangup. I'm eager to play in April, but the course Jess (the Home player) wants to play on isn't available until the end of the month.

If something horrible happens and I'm not able to play just one other match, I am completely fucked for this league... all because the home player wants a specific course.

An option would be to ask Jess if she can make a compromise on the location.

And then? (If things don't change)

I don't think I should be on the hook for the Home players' insistence.

No, but why cant you play the game where she wants to play it?

Usually what has happened is both players figure out when the game can be played and then choose the course from what is available...

This is what should happen.....

I am confused why she would want to play you at a course she has never played before...she clearly wants you to win Confused

I have no problem with her chosing the course. I don't mind waiting until May to play it.

My concern was that if I miss a match later, then I would have two matches that wouldn't count, only because of the Home Player's choice and schedule.

It's good to know that there is an appeals process.

If you plan on playing all 6 matches then not playing them in the month required is a non-issue

I think we all plan on playing our 6. Stuff happens. I know I would appreciate some flexibility in trying to get them.

And your flexibility in the past, with regard to this rule, was appreciated.

More flexability? Really?

There is not a league with a schedule that gives more flexability then the OMPL.

You can play when you want at any time of day, where you want choice of any DG course in the world, you can stop a match if its sprinkling if its to cold or to hot. You can play your match when you like. Want to play August match in April? Go for it. Want to play april in july? go for it.. The fact of the matter is you have 30 or 31 days to plan the match. Do you need more time? That is plenty of time, and if you cant fit it into the proper time you always have the chance to make it up (which in most leagues you don’t). Since your getting the grace of making up a missed match, which relative to most leagues is a free gift, you have to do a little in return.
Easy solution is play your games on time…

As usual the official end of the month will be decided as on how the weekends align at the end of the month. April this year will end on Monday May 2nd, giving an extra Sunday (may 1st ) to play matches.

this was due to no one complaining about missed matches. in the past people have had to play all matches for missed games to count.
