Is he a current member? Will he be in town that date? Does he still have the touch? Inquiring minds want to know.

Probably not. I'll ask him if he shows.

He'll probably claim he does but said himself that he only plays 5 times a year.

He doesn't qualify under rule 2b:
(b) Each player shall be an active member of their respective team's disc golf organization, participating regularly in events run by their organization through the year leading up to the event.

Playing in one event doesn't qualify him, even if he is a member.

So what's "regular"?

I mean, you can have the regular that means something along the lines of "attends most events" or the Catholic kind of regular.

Who cares?
It's easier to define what isn't regular:
someone that plays one event.

Champion only Rolly, you've got to earn it!

I think that rule is in place to avoid bringing in a ringer. Ringers can be bad as you're stacking your team as well as taking the spot from a regular club member. It's easier to just say "regular" and that takes care of the stacking debate.

Stephan, while he might live in Europe, has been a great asset to the Ottawa community and is playing in no other immediate clubs or leagues. (ADGM, Toronto, etc.).

Personally, if the ODGC membership were happy to have him, I'd defend his position on the team as it wouldn't be bringing in a ringer in my mind.

I'm sure the ODGC captain would foot the air fare bill for him.
