With the Ice Bowl less than a month away I thought I would share the discs that will be included in the players packs.

Please do not post which disc you want as this is NOT a selection process.
It is merely to inform you of what is available so that you're not debating on what to choose on tournament day.

Quote:
GATEWAY SUPERSOFT MAGIC - Weight range: 170-172g

The Magic is one of our most popular putters and one of the best all around disc for both new players and those with more experience. It is a straight flying putter / approach disc that can be easily used by beginners because of its great glide and small amount of low speed fade.

This is also an easy disc to turn over and will hold just about any line it is thrown without Hyzering out.The Magic has a blunter nose than the other Gateway putters, which allows it to maintain longer spinning action because of the added gyroscopic weight distribution in the rim.

Quote:
GATEWAY ORGANIC WIZARD - Weight range: 173-175g

The Gateway Wizard is a true, stable workhorse putter. The Wizard holds whatever line you put on it with very little fade during its drop, and is also a great putter in windy conditions. While stiff enough to hold its line on long putts, the Wizard's plastic is grippy enough to grab chain.

The Wizard is also excellent off the tee as a driver, handling controlled power very well and it makes an excellent choice for midrange drives and upshots.

Quote:
INNOVA DX WRAITH - Weight range: 160-175g

The Wraith is a long stable Distance Driver with speed, glide and accuracy.
This Wraith can provide great distance for players of all skill levels. It is an excellent down wind driver that also performs predictably into the wind.

Quote:
INNOVA STAR SIDEWINDER - Weight range: 170-175g

The Sidewinder is a fast flyer with a predictable high speed turn and lots of glide. This disc can add distance to anyone’s drive, but is especially useful for those with less power. The Sidewinder is our best disc for long turnover shots and long distance rollers. Even disc golfers who have never had much success throwing a roller shot, will be amazed at the results they can achieve with the Sidewinder.

Quote:
INNOVA PRO KATANA* - Weight range: 170-175g

The Katana is built with the finesse thrower in mind. Recommended downwind driver. Hit the angle right and watch it bolt out of sight. The physical characteristics resemble a Boss with the flight characteristics of a Sidewinder on steroids. Master the technique of Katana and rule the course.

***PLEASE NOTE***
*I ordered 10 of the unique dyed Katana's that were included in a special offer which I will distribute to players of the OPEN division using the following method; on February 1st at 7pm I will post a picture of the Katana's with numbers attached.
If you're registered for the Ice Bowl and in the Open division you may choose your Katana, if you don't want a Katana you will wait and select your disc on tournament day.
(first come first served, so show up early!)

If you want to see what some of the stamps look like go to Ebay and type in "Ice Bowl Katana".

The "Organic" putter is made from recycled rubber for all of you eco-friendly disc golfers out there! Flies just like your normal Wizard but now you can feel less guilty about your carbon-footprint. The Wizard is great for short or long putts and works well as an approach disc too.

Recycled rubber!?!

Betch'a that's a sticky disc.

One for Rolly...

(These are images I've taken from EBay, and not the discs that Dr. Dros has.)

And PMing me what disc you want (even though I clearly state that it's "first come first serve") is appropriate? big grin

Besides the Katanas, are all the discs available to all the players, regardless of division? Or will Thumber have to trade his Star disc with a Sub-Zero player's rubber-putter?

I used to have a Lightning Rubber Putter:

It floated. And I first started playing at a Calgary course with a little river that ran through the course. It was funny trying to run after your disc as it floated away with the current.

I knew there would be some players, like Thumber, that would prefer to choose a putter. So I will make them all available BUT i don't want to end up with a stack of magics at the end so I will encourage the Am and Womens divisions to choose between the Wizards, Magics or Wraiths.

In the end there may very well be some grumbling but there is no easy way of doing this.
I'm damned if i do and I'm damned if I don't either way It's always the TDs fault. sly wink
