Thanks Andros.

Any thought on upping what the winner of the zIB gets so it becomes possible to get really big league upsets?

I got 132 for the win, but it was no where near enough to catch Penton

It may need a rejigging because Jeff Lewis bumped me out of the 6th spot because he tied for 2nd in am.

What do you suggest?

Two ways to go about it.

1 - Disconnect Ice League and Ice Bowl. They are completely different formats (doubles versus singles). One person wins Ice League and one (or 2 or 3) wins Ice Bowl. You get points and Ice Bucks for winning the league and the same for the Ice Bowl. This would be my recommendation. Same person could win both, but they are separate events.

2 - Double what Ice Bowl rewards the winners. 200 + Bonus Points. I don't like this approach as it negates all the hard work people put into the league in one tournament. People who show up for 12 league events shouldn't et bumbed by someone who just shows up for the Ice Bowl, kicks ass and takes all their points

I agree with your first idea I think they should be separated as they are different formats.

Hey, just wondering how come the total is based on top 7 results when clearly at the bottom of the spreadsheet it says top 6. I personally don't care much but players who budgeted exactly 6 appearances might.

Top 6 + Ice Bowl

That is what we are discussing separating. I think this would be the way to go.

It was "no where near enough to catch" me because I won 5 of the 6 events and you won 2. You really feel that to win the League, which has always included the IB (in fact the league was created to go with the IB), you need to win 2 events plus the IB?

No and my post wasn't intended to sound like whining. You played really well and deserved to win the league. My thinking has been evolving while I am writing. I just think the formats are very different. Disconnecting the two events, given their dissimilarity of format, just made sense to me.

The doubles format allows "AM" players to compete in the league. When it comes time for the IB the "AM" players compete against like-leveled players and are still competing.

If Andros played better he wouldn't have been bumped by Lewis who played in the appropriate division and finished well.

You seperate the two and then what? The league was created for the IB.

The silver lining in all of this is that the point system is extremely effective at eliminating any ties in points.
If you'll notice the first occurrence of a tie is at 23rd and 24th place.

So the system works well in that respect.

Everytime you abuse the English language, an angel kicks a baby bunny into the ocean.

Think of the bunnies.

You'll give up eventually. It's a losing battle.
