Ok, so it looks like we might actually have snow this weekend.

What's the scoop with the ribbons and stuff we attach to the discs? What kind of ribbons and tape is best to use? I've never done winter disc golfing.

Thanks C-Kyle. Does it matter what colour the duct tape is? I happen to have some white stuff already.

Do you tape the ribbon on the top of the dome or underneath?

it doesn't matter what colour the tape is at all nor does it matter whether u tape it on top or bottom....In my mind if u put it on the bottom it is more protected from the elements and is less likely to affect the flight of the disc....I used hockey tape last year and it lasted the entire winter...so that is an option

Don't use white ribbon.

Use between 3&4 ft of ribbon. Sometimes 2 ft only will tangle up into a tight ball if the disc is still spinning under the snow & u won't see it at all. Too much ribbon is no good either tho...

Doubt u will need it this weekend tho.

Also, I try & position the tape such that the ribbon leaves the disc in the exact center of the disc on the bottom side... Less aerodynamic disturbance i.e. air friction.

Some more good advice that got buried in the IL thread;

another tip is get the ribbons on warm then place your bag outside for at least an hour before playing. Once the discs are cold the snow won't stick to them

The only disc we spent any amount of time looking for on Saturday was one that wasn't ribboned. Took us, maybe, 2 minutes to find it. All good in the end, but lesson learned.
