That is a beauty.

I don't think you're seeing "nice raking". I think you're seeing compaction and wear from use. With a place that nice I'd expect some big traffic.

Very cool. I see a Thumber shot on 13B. smile

I think I would throw a Star Eagle at 13A....low heat up the gut

13B would depend....maybe a Firebird hook

RE. Raking....I was just trying to illustrate how pretty a clean fairway is....something to keep in mind for those adopting a hole at CF

A natural advantage for the Pacific NW. Aside from the 3 or 4 baby leafy trees in the picture, the park is planted with mature evergreens, with their lower branches trimmed away. No raking required.

Put back the lower branches, and add roller-coaster terrain, and you've got the Canmore course.

"Planted" my be a stretch expect perhaps on a geological scale; that look more like old growth.

I have one issue with hole designs like this:
100 years to grow the tree;
less than 10 years to leave it with enough exposed wood to invite pests; less than 15 to kill it.

I don't feel that the trunks of legacy trees make reasonable primary obstacles for disc golf drives. IMHO, you can equate it to throwing knives around necks.

It looks quite inviting, though.

Trees like in the picture would take 100 years to grow in Ottawa.

In rainy, balmy, Portland, Oregon, where they have bastard mutant species like Douglas Fir, those trees may only be 40 years old.

It's clear why this is such a draw.

A 40 year old trimmed fir is the signature feature of the hole of the day.

Nice work, Shane!

Seriously. I'm not a big fan of the "throw and pray" holes.

Ah the Poke-and-hope. Always helps to have a local throw first. I think the lane on the left is open for a flick.
