Throw money behind winning it and then the interest would only go up.

How would this money be raised?

Lot's of ways but practically I think it would be from the event registration fee or part of the sanctioning fee. CTP's or Ace Pool could work. Nothing to go much deeper into anyones pockets though. A PC registration fee doesn't seem appropriate as that would take away from the value we hope to gain from somebody being included and wanting to attend more events.

I don't want the winner to win $$.

Am I looking at the right Ice Bowl?

Ottawa Ice Bowl IX - results

Yes.

I must be blind. I swear I looked and thought sub zero wasn't registering.

Sorry about that. Ice Bowl is one of 6 that is fully inclusive.

I may agree with you at the end of the day. I may not agree with lot's of stuff that happens for good reasons. I may not agree with giving needles to addicts and stuff like that but it's accepted to be for the greater good.

If money increases interest in the club and membership then it could be one of those things one doesn't agree with but does good.

Most events have money winnings. What's you thinking on this one not having cash winnings?

For what its worth i view the PC race as very Ottawa-centric and don't think there is a need for a cash reward for winning it. This one is all about bragging rights. Plus, bringing cash payouts creates issues of cash source, which is club members, who already pay quite a bit each year.

For the reasons that Thumber has stated: bragging rights, and draining more $$ from our members.

I don't play DG for money. There are tournaments that are set up that way and I compete in them, and no, I won't turn down my winnings as that is what was presented to me as the reward for my showing.
