All this would be mute if people could just play at least 4 games, like Rolly's been begging us to do all season. But life does interfere with DG sometimes... _________________ Boyle says BOOM! |

In my defense I've spent the last two months trying to get him out to play. Not much more I could do to try and setup a match with him.
Even if you forget about this, you need to ensure that all the defaulted players are at the bottom of the bracket. If anyone is going to get a bye, it needs to start at the #1 seed and work down. The way it worked this year was not fair to the #2 seed (Claus). _________________ "You don't grind - you don't shine!"

Why not tell me that? there is a clause in the rules for people whom run into this situation. You would have had 3 pts. |

I already had 3 points. Mat got 3 points for his default win against Colin, and beat me in the tiebreaker since his +/- was lower due to actually only playing one match. This isn't a big deal to me. I do think, as I've said a few times now, that the "automatic-losers" in the playoffs need to be at the bottom of the bracket to ensure that the top seeds get the byes.
The new tiebreaker logic you outlined before would definitely help with this. _________________ "You don't grind - you don't shine!"

I meant you would have had 3 more points sorry. The logic behind Matt getting 3 points from Colin was because Colin had thrown in the towel. Matt had not officially fore-fitted the whole time so the only next fair thing is to report the people who are being inactive to me in due time and I will assign points (due to defaults) etc when people have felt wronged (Its in the rules). If no one complains to me, in due time I cant do much. There are lots of matches that people did not do because both parties were at fault so no default points were assigned.
Note for all: (I know Rob probably had tried to get in touch with Matt, so this is not for he):
To get default points you need to make an effort in trying to contact the person. If the person enters, and never shows up, and you don't try to contact them really to play the game you wont get points. To make the decision, I need to see an effort and a lack of effort (I dont need to see the emails, but you know what I mean) from one side and another.
Maybe next year I'll make an official "Who's being a lazy ass" period in the last 2 weeks of Aug so people can send in there protests. I hate the non-players more then all of you trust me

Rolly Birdies #18 at the shire to win 5-4 over Claus. An excellent match with drama right to the end. |
