Seacyle - what's your team's name?

Looks like we'll have one single division this time unless we get a few new teams quickly...

Hi Ben - I can use at least one more basket for the "grove" behind the baseball field, and one other could be used for practice putting or the Putting Competition.

THANK YOU!

I'll show up as a free agent, but I'm not doing any baby feeding duty.

...unless I can feed it vodka. Then I'm down.

5 minute drive to Kanata Centrum, with lots of fast food, and some sit-down eateries too.

Some clarification:

When I say "I"ll show up" I mean "I'll show up if there's some indication that I won't be the only FA there".

And when I say "I'll feed the baby vodka" I actually mean "I'll feed the baby miscellaneous schnapps". (I don't have any vodka)

so what is the 5?

1T to 2 B
2T to 4 B
3T to 5B
6 Statue T - 6 B
4 tunnel to 7B
Soccer field line to 8B

6 holes instead of five, but good flow

you could put 2 sets of tees and play S L L
or you could do away with mulligans entirely and do Open SLL and Intermediate SLS and am2 SSS with a big dif between the S and the L

just my 2

Rolly - ODGC members get a $5 discount, so most people will pay $20, and with this many teams, no profit will be made after the prizes, light food/drinks were purchased, and the club fees are paid.

Thumber - We'll play 15 holes each round for a total of 45 holes + the Skills Competition - it's a full day of golf.

Ben - Thanks again for the offer of help - see you in the morning. I'll be there at 7:30 - 7:45, but if you can't make it that early, a bit later is still fine.

C-Kyle - Listen to Rolly's advice.

Free Agents - Come on down! We've often been able to make teams on the spot.

Everyone - It would be best to bring your own food, but as mentioned above, its only a few minutes drive to a major mall, with several options. I'll have some pop, chips, and granola bars for those in need.

The weather beamed down upon us all day, giving us sunshine and the occasional challenging gust of wind to keep us guessing.

With one team pulling out at the last minute we had a light turnout of four teams, but everyone seemed to have a good time at the 8th edition of the Ottawa Tree-Oh Challenge.

One of the great things about this tournament is how the lead tends to change from round to round, and this year was no exception, with the event see-sawing back and forth between the defending champion Starz of Darkness, and The Aristocrats, who made some great gains during the Skills Competition.

Poke it with a Stick threw the same scores as the eventual winning team over the Skills Competition and both the 2nd and 3rd rounds, while Doudounne's team was only 2 strokes back of the 2nd place team on the final round.

Winners of the three Skill Competition events were Pat Huot of Starz of Darkness, with a dual-measured laser range finder measured distance of 406.5' Rob Hale, who also won a couple of CTPs, won the Mid-Range event, while his Aristocrat partner Andrew 'Where's My Dog' Kauffman was unstoppable on the putting field, sinking every station without fail, and winning while only throwing 8 throws at the 6 stations he played at, finishing at 40' with no need to continue to the next station.

Results:
Tournament results

We played 15 holes each round, using 5 additional baskets to the course in Kanata, with some new holes and using some of the regular holes from modified teepads. During the first round, we played Best-Disc, using 5 drives from each team member. In the second round, we played Best-Score, using 5 unique results per team member.

After a break for lunch, we played the Skills Competitions followed by a Scramble round, with teams throwing in an order as arranged by their team captains. Next year we'll go with a Rotating Scramble, with the playing order fixed as it was this year, but with the driving order also rotating in that same order on each hole.

The prize table was well stocked as usual, as I tend to switch in to sugardaddy mode for my tournaments.

If you enjoyed the tournament, let's help spread the word so that we get more teams next year. I'll announce a date for next years tournament early in the spring once the tournament schedule for next season gets settled.

The event raised $88 for the ODGC. Many thanks to all who came out and had a good time, and especially to Ben Svetkoff for helping to set up and take down the course.

Cheers!
