Thanks, but that doesn't really help me.

then don't ask

my vote is higher quality in a smaller bottle over swill in a pail

Nor do I, I never said that. I just think a 26er wont be enough if we pass
it around like we did at the Bigman.

How do people feel about La Sauza Silver or Gold? Both come in 40oz.

My vote would also be for higher quality even if it means 26r. If lots of ppl are interested we get more than one bottle. smile

Consider it done! Fly back Wednesday night (another Ettyville night missed!! frown ). I just confirmed that the Atlanta Airport Duty Free shop has Patron. Excellent. I'm guessing I can pick up a bottle for $50.

Sometimes there are deals on the really good stuff (Don Julio for example). They'll run $100-$140 a 26r here, but if I can score a bottle of that for what we'd pay for a 26r of Patron, that could be tempting. Unless you guys are set on Patron.

There is a difference between the Don Julio and the Patron (silver-wise, DJ has a bit more of a pepper flavour).

Don't buy any of the Sauzas, please.

I know the lcbo carries a lot of very nice tequilas; I just don't know what their prices are (tequila is a staple, which means I don't bother looking at the price). Some of the good ones are cheaper than Patron. I can check it out the next time I'm in the candy store.

Thanks Holly. I couldn't find any information suggesting that DJ and Patron are the same (cahman, the intertube would know!! smile ). They are owned by different manufacturers, have different distilleries, etc.

As you've mentioned, my research suggests that Patron is heavily marketed in North America and as such demands a higher price, but in reality there is better tequila out there at a lower price point.

Perfect conversation for Ettyville.

What's the mescal available at the licbo? Dous Dous slurped that stuff like Bee all over a waffle cone in July.

Either way, tequila of all discerning stripes is suitably homagey to the Dous, and is heartily endorsed by the MWH. Go way big!
