The Tuesday night league continues on May 18 at the Kanata Disc Golf Course. We will play the course twice, playing both shorts and longs.

All disc golfers are welcome regardless of ability. Even if you've never played in an ODGC event or tournament, we would like to have you join us for League Nights.

We'll be gathering near the trailhead sign for the course next to the parking lot. We aim to tee off at 6:15pm, so:
Be at the park by 6:00 to register.

Directions to the Kanata course are here: Directions

Do your best to bring exact change. Fees are $5 for everyone. ODGC memberships and the Tuesday Night Registration package ($75) (good for all Tuesday night league events) will be available as well. I'll offer a $5 discount for each week you've played so far if you wish to purchase a registration package.

With 14 players eligable, we could have as many as three pools in the QB finals.

Yup. I don't know how it works, but if everyone who was in the QB last week (see above) makes it out Tuesday, I think Paulie said there would be 4 pools.

I thought the pools in the 3rd week were sorted by score. Is this not the case?

Quote:
Quarterback Challenge
1. General
a) $1 from every fee collected will be placed in a pool that shall be referred to as the Quarterback Challenge pool (QBCP).
b) The QBCP will be awarded on the third of every three week cycle according to the cycle as established in the Schedule of Events
c) Only players participating in every event of a three week cycle shall be considered eligible for a share of the QBCP for that cycle.
d) The QBCP pool will be divided into up to four (4) sub pools, each sub pool ideally containing an equal number players, and the sub pools will be known as the A, B, C, and D pools.
e) The minimum pool size shall be four (4) players.
f) Players will be divided into pools according to their handicaps.
g) Players without handicaps before the third round will, by default, be grouped into the top pool. The coordinator can, at their discretion, place players without handicaps in other pools if doing so does not put other players in that pool at an anticipated disadvantage, and if doing so provides for the creation of a greater number of pools.

Is this new then? I pulled up an example from last year which I thought was ranked on according to score. Not an issue, just curious.

You are ranked according to score, though you are pooled according to your handicap.

The pool you end up in is determined by your handicap. The example you quoted only featured 7 players, so there was only one pool. You need at least four players in each pool, so seven doesn't make the cut.

Once the pools are established, the only thing that counts is your score. Nothing has changed this year over last (or the year before that, or the year before that).

With 14 players tonight, there's a chance we'll actually have three pools. Pool "B" will lose its fifth player (if 13 register), then pool "A" does (if 12 register). If fewer than 12 on the list make it for registration, we move to two pools instead of three.

This example doesn't allow for two or more pools. Pools must have a minimum of 4 players. You need eight for two pools.

yes, but is it your score WITHIN the pool or raw score against all the pools (in which case what is the purpose of the pools...?)

...and you should be familiar with the online players meeting. Give that thread a read if you haven't already.
