The Tuesday night league continues on August 11 at Camp Fortune. Action will be from the short pads.

All disc golfers are welcome regardless of ability. Even if you've never played in an ODGC event or tournament, we would like to have you join us for League Nights.

Quality footwear is required at Camp Fortune. Wear shoes appropriate for hiking on uneven terrain. Directions to the course are available if you click here.

We'll be gathering at the picnic table near the practice basket (near the entrance to the main lodge).
Note that start times have moved to 6:15.
We will begin the round at 6:15pm this week, so:
Be at the hill before 6:00 to register!

Bring exact change. Fees are $5 for all players. ODGC memberships will be available as well.

See you on Tuesday!

In order to avoid any issues with darkness, I will be conducting pre-registration for:
Penton, Geoff - pre-registered
Reitlingshoefer, Claus - registered
Seguin, Serge - pre-registered
McLeod, David - pre-registered
Fisher, Kyle - will not pre-register
Bourgeois, Paul - registered
Svetkoff, Ben - pre-registered

Beginning on Monday, August 10 you can PM me to pre-register.

You will be on a pre-assigned card.

Those on pre-assigned cards can start their round any time after 6:00pm.

Pre-registration for you guys will close at noon on Tuesday.

Everyone else has to wait until after registration closes at 6:00 to be assigned to a card.

The season has advanced to the point where there will be no room for people that are late for registration. Make sure you pay your fees before 6:00 to be included in this, our final round at Camp Fortune in the 2009 season!

Can i ask why you have to be in the QB challenge to pre-register? I am planning to be there and not in the QB challenge.

Quarterback Challenge participants are grouped together on Aggregate 3's weeks (week three of every quarterback challenge). Where there is only one pool (as there will be this week), the cards can be predetermined.

Those not in the QB challenge are grouped according to handicaps.

QB Challenge players have shown committment to arrive at all of the events leading up to the third week, and their card order is predetermined in an ironclad fashion. I will honour their committment through this special privilege.

Other participants will need to wait until others arrive to be assigned to a card. Everyone is always welcome, up until the close of registration at 6:00pm. You don't have to be a member, or a Tuesday Night regular to attend. You don't require a forum account, either.

This open invitation is a privilege extended to the entire disc golf community. You may arrive without having to announce it prior to the close of registration, and be placed on a card with those most likely to equal the quality of your game.

In Paul's defense, a simple "no" would not have been a suitable answer to a "why" question....

Ah, I see your point Ken

"Because I said so" would have been more appropriate.

In Jeff's defense, he was saying "no" to a "Can I ask" a question of a why nature. big grin

  • OUT OF BOUNDS: The Creek on #13...Drop zone: Players must place a marker disc where the grass ends on the side of the road closest to the teepad (not on the road, but on the grass and throwing over the road) and along the line running through the centre of the pad and the place where the disc entered the OB zone. Use of the drop zone is required. In determining where on the drop zone to place your marker disc, use the pad from which you made your drive. No other relief is provided for a disc which lands in the creek. Discs landing in-bounds but within 1m of the creek may be relocated in accordance with the rules.

Question about the creek that came up pre 4th round at the CC.

Where exactly is the line of the creek? Is it the waters edge, or is it the edge of the eroded earth from the river, ie where the earth drops straight about 1 foot in height (probobly the edge of the river i high water season). In some area's there is still "Dry" land after the edge of the creek where the land is 90 degrees vertical.

This is fine but seems like super overkill complicated rule when there are already flags for a drop zone. Why not just use it? It is so much simpler.

Also, Is the other side of the creek OB?

Seems the easiest way to be clear is to use a designated drop zone and have the pad edge of the creek the OB line (thus in or over is OB).

Something for next year maybe?

The rule was drafted before there was a flagged drop zone.
Just follow the rule, please and thank you.

Those reading the rule will see that there is no indication of the other side of the creek being OB. OB must be mentioned explicitly by a TD prior to the round. The answer to your question is no.

Perhaps.

Corn Out of Bounds - Corn OB - COB

John, it's too wet there for corn, I think, so I planted rice. The bloody currents in the river took my seeds away. I am presently looking for a hardy cranberry seed instead.
