The Tuesday night league continues on June 9th at The Ettyville Super Spin!

This will be the first TOSS round played in Ettyville, and John has been working hard to get the course in top shape for the event.

All disc golfers are welcome regardless of ability. Even if you've never played in an ODGC event or tournament, we would like to have you join us for League Nights.

Click here for driving directions to the course.

We aim to tee off at 6:30pm, so:
Be at the course by 6:15 to register!

Good footwear is highly recommended for this course. Hiking shoes or something similar are recommended.

Do your best to bring exact change. Registration is $5. ODGC memberships will be available as well. Super Spin green fees are "Pay What You Will".

See you on Tuesday!

Just to expand upon what "Pay What You Will" means for now. All green fees collected will be put towards baskets for the course and I will personally match these monies. If people come play, and they pay, we'll have more baskets.

Second thing to mention it that I'll be doing bbq fair and refreshments on a cost recovery basis again. That should be ready to go for 5 pm for anybody who finds it hard to make it home from work for a meal and then out to the course. Feel free to come straight out and chow down. Play a few warm up holes / chill out / what ever.

I'll also post this in the general section but anybody who would like to play a round on Sunday afternoon or Monday night before TOSS is welcome. I'll be putting the finishing touches for opening up the course on Sunday afternoon but the course should be playable.

A quick note on how long it will take you to get to the course:

At the time of the day we'll be travelling, you will need 30 minutes to make it to the course from the Boundary Road exit on the 417.

Sure hope the rain holds off. laughing

I see Ettyville now has a course page for directions. Thanks a bunch.

For tonight.

- Bug spray for sure
- Good footwear and prepare for it to be wet. Place was just drying out but after today it'll be wet in places again.
- Dogs, Burgers, and refreshments will be available. I've got shelter from the elements if need be.
- Parking. The lane I'd like to use may be a bit wet and has had some washing out so be carefull if you use it. Feel free to come in the other lane and we'll get you parked or you can park at the side of the road and walk up.
- A course map will be provided tonight.

Finished the required mowing late last night. Course is officially in. thumbsup

It's a bit longer than before and more challenging I think. The tonal on the hill by the pond was Penton's idea. Cool

Hope to see you there but totally appreciate how busy a week its been for many. Good news is we're in the ground earlier than ever and it should mostly be maintenance for me.

The new #4 hole will not be unvailed tonight. We'll save that for another night.

I'll post more if I think of anything.

Cheers,

John

Got a bit creative here. We're going to be using my grain auger. The tonal part is the "down shoot" that attaches to the end of it. Looks just like a tonal. Here's a pic of one to help.

The height? to be determined. Somewhere between 6' and 40'.....

Bring good footwear.

John has hewn out some of the bush, and some teepads may be uneven.

Make sure you have something that will grip and no just slip.

Foot wear very important. How you walk around even more important. Worst thing is little stumps. I've cut and cleaned the tree but the stumps take years before they rot or pull up.

Map is done. Par for tonight has been set at 64. Break it and I'll buy you a pint.

I've lost my cell phone Sunday afternoon working on the course. If you find it I'll be really thankfull but most importantly don't bother trying to track me down on it tonight.

I should be home by 4 pm. Home phone # is 613-673-5858 but I won't be in the house much if at all.

The thought did cross my mind to have the hopper on and the thing running so that if you missed long you can stand under the shoot and wait for your shredded disc to start falling out. That's DB. Destruction Bounds!

... then I realized that probably isn't a good idea.

Hasn't stopped me from cluttering the fairway with grain wagons though. 17 is so farm....

Since Ultimate was cancelled for tonight, I'm in. If anyone wants to car pool, let me know (I can drive). I live in the east end, Blair Road area.

Just an FYI - There has been a fatal accident on the Hunt Club bridge. It is closed, so look for another route if that was your way.

Just making a note here:

From the players meeting:
Quote:
Long grass on left hand side of 6 & 8 fairways {is out of bounds}. If your disc is surrounded by uncut grass, you are out of bounds.

It would have been tough to be there on 6, but not so hard on 8.
Any missed strokes out there?

Our card was good. We were all up the middle.

I'm adding a stroke to my own score on 18 for making a practice throw, and I'm adding a second courtesy violation because I was responsible for an outburst that occurred when another player was throwing (the first came when I had to back track a run to recover a disc I had left on the ground, thus forcing my group to have to wait unnecessarily).

Apologies to those on my card.
