We'll leave the format open, but we really ought to play some kind of doubles or team format, since we've been a little too singles oriented so far.

I agree....how about just a "mystery partner"?? We all play the round and at the end, draw the partners from a deck of card and combine scores? Simple enough....It does look/sound like singles but you have to keep in mind that your score will be combined with someone else's. And how about we play 9 holes from blue...and 9 from yellow.

How bout random draw partners, best disc.

I don't really get these combined individual scores as a team game. You are not playing as a team, just adding your individual score with another's individual score.

Doubles, to me, should involve one score for the team, with a chance to capitalize on the team's performance.

There's something so toddler-like about that time of the year when we start discussing Carl's mystery craps.

Normally, the corn is in by the time we're taking a good look.

Don't hold your breath for that format this week.

Something new in the rain this week, we played a format called Fire Drill with our turnout of six players. Welcome to Andrew, a new player at League Night.

It went like this: teams of three players all tee off (we played Long Yellows) and the opposing team chose the worst drive. The two players whose drives weren't the worst, played best disc from the worst drive lie to complete the hole. The player who threw the worst drive, then selected the best lie from his two teammates' drives, and played solo from that lie. We used combined score from the best disc worst lie and solo best lie.

We played the south side twice and the north side once to make 18 holes.

Results:

1. Shane Kilpatrick, Stéphane Myre and Eric Vinet +13
2. Ken Darcovich, Serge Séguin and Andrew Kauffmann +16

Payout of $5 each to Shane, Stéphane and Eric.

Of note, last night's story was Shane throwing the Epic. He was pin-high twice on No. 1 long yellow, and took some routes that most players wouldn't even imagine as possible options.

It's too bad he wasn't here when the Epic first came on the scene, and our group of players more or less dismissed it as a not very useful novelty disc.

No Aces, pot goes to $71.

Shane's throws were awesome to watch....the distance and height he got with that Epic....unbelievable...we all watched and oohed and aahed on many occasions...Shane...aren't you concerned you might end up ripping your shoulder out?

Parked from #1 long yellows, just watching it was worth the soaking. Then there was the tombstone on #8, the disc just planted with almost a third of it buried. Shane mentioned that his brother throws further. Shocked
