It's true.
Even though it appears staged.

We'll be at JCP this Saturday, and will be looking westwards towards Kanata and maybe Carp for the following two weeks.

We'll play one of the most popular layouts from these past few Ice League's at JCP tomorrow. More details to follow.

There are a few formats that we can only do in the winter season, when the paths and parking lots are full of snow.

This is the time to run and enjoy them. Cool

We'll play at JCP tomorrow on the Basket-to-the-next-basket-Odds-one-way-Then-the-other-way.

In other words, we'll be going from: 5 to 7, 7 to 9, 9 to 11, 11 to 13, 13 to 15, 15 to 17, 17 to 1, 1 to 3, 3 to 5 - then - 5 to 3, 3 to 1, 1 to 17, 17 to 15, 15 to 13, 13 to 11, 11 to 9, 9 to 7, 7 to 5.

Some are long, others are short. None of them have been aced... yet! Teepads will get marked by the tallest player on your card, who will make a line three big steps out from the basket. Mark it clearly for the next card who will use the same teepad.

Come on out to Ice League, where your best-7 results count towards the final ranking, which wraps up at our 7th Annual Ice Bowl. There's still plenty of time to get 7 results, so even if you haven't made it yet, there's still plenty of time.

We'll be having a carload or two of players from Montreal as well this week, so let's greet them with larger number of local players.

See you tomorrow at Disc Central, near Basket #4. Ice Putt starts at 11:30, and registration wraps up at around 12:00 noon. We'll start by 12:15.

The sun was shining brightly on Saturday, and the 10 players who showed up had a great day in the sun, with very few other people in the park to play around.

We were happy to see another carload of players from Montreal at Ice League, as well as Tom Miller (and his dog) at their first Ice League of the season. Once again, Montreal left with our money. embarrassment

WEEK 6 - Odds Double Reverse
1. Patrick Huot & Shawn St. Jean-Timmins (+7), $15 each
2. Geoff Rowland & Tom Miller (+9)
3. Jeff Langs & Andy Vallée (+11)
4. Don Lane & Simon Bélanger-Gagnon (+13)
5. Jeff Larivière & Sonia Scalise (+17) (sure Jeffrey... random...!) stick out tongue wink

The odd-basket-to-every-other-odd-basket layout puzzled the players a few times, but the 2nd group just followed the layout created by the first group, and eventually, most of the proper holes were played. It was easy to follow the footsteps at this time of the year!

No aces were scored, and the Ace Pool is now up to $38.

Ice Putt was busy, with the following players top score listed:

1. OMR, 28 pts, $11, 20 Ice Bucks
2. Rolly
3. Splash
4= Shawn SJT
4= Pat
6. Andros
7= Shomy
7= Shimon

The CTP, and the $20 Ice Bucks and the Godfather Card, was won by Tito.

Next week, Ice League moves out to The Shire in Carp, where host Twirly will layout a good course for us.

The following week, we'll be hosted by Old Man River out at Flat Mountain, in Mountain, ON at his 18-hole tonal course.

I'll set up a new thread for the Ice League out at the Shire so that we can set up rides... I'll do the same thing the following week for Flat Mountain.

Fill up your cars, and spend some time at courses that you are rarely able to access.

The ranking for both the Ice League and the Ice Bowl is up to date.

There sure is!

We'll be returning to JCP for a reverse look at the course, going basket-to-basket, which creates a few sweet bids at the Ace Pool, which will be more than $50 on Saturday.

Players can tee off from anywhere they like, within a 10' circle of the centre of the basket.

Ice Putt starts at it's usual time of 11:30, and Ice League at 12:00 noon.

We should be able to get lots of rounds of Ice Putt in both before and after the round, which with the loss of most of our snow, should go faster than normal this weekend.

I've been wrapped up in work all week. Our bid for the world championships in wheelchair rugby is tomorrow, but my part will be done shortly before Ice League starts.

I'll have the results for both Ice League events up early next week, maybe Sunday if I drop by the office on the weekend.
