Read the rule, you get relief from an OB LINE, rivers dont have an OB line thats static unless marked.
For example, old #1, on a day when its wavy? where is the line? It changes by 1m every 3 seconds as waves move in and out. I say no. I think this needs to be deliberated for 85 pages on the Pdga.com site by the lawyers. As I read the rule, relief from an OB line, and OB lines are human made stright lines created by the wonderful volunteers whom make DG possible. I thought of the rule during a IL round where the paths play as rivers.

if everybody cans an ace everytime we tee off we don't need these rules...but then again...disc golf is sounding a lot like "grammaire francaise !!! "Shheeesh...didn't think about all these rules.

Do the best you can. As long as you aren't wet, and as long as you aren't flagrantly taking advantage of the relief, you should be fine.

It's well worth TDs taking note: mark water OB if you can!

yeah, but do you get relief from the water? I encouraged Splash move his disc inbounds 1m as it very easily could have ended up with a sprained ankle or torqued knee since the path is 7cm above the ground, and his disc was right beside it. Then the question hit me, do you get relief from water? or an unmarked OB line thats not static?
