Week 12 of the Tuesday Ottawa Singles Series is at Camp Fortune, and play will be from the short teepads. This is the last Tuesday night event at Camp Fortune for the season, so come on out and bid the mountain fare well for the weeknight season! This week, cards will be seeded by your quarterback standing, and then by your player handicap. We'll be putting people on cards of three to facilitate fast play. The round will begin at 6:30pm sharp, so get to the course by 6:15.

First 3 go for 1/2, second 3 go for 1/2? That would be fun. There's a close race between those 2 "groups".

... a 53 to stay where you are, and anything lower to make lowering your handicap in future weeks easier.

Pools of at least four people will be formed based on handicap and based so as to maximize the number of pools. Due to the numbers, only one pool will be made.

I can't bend the rules this late into the challenge to do that, but...
if you want to see it happen, you can use 1/2 of your winnings (should you beat Eric) as an incentive to those in the lower pool... big grin

K, I've heard rumours that Ben won't be making it this week either (packing and preping for the big move), so...

2006-07-25
Camp Fortune Short Teepads
Conditions: Sunny & Clear
Temperature: 24°C
Winds: 5-10km/hr

7 Golfers brazenly ignored the threat of torrential downpours and made the trip to Camp Fortune. They were rewarded for their stalwart determination with a spectacular evening of disc golf. One would be hard-pressed to think of a more fitting Tuesday night "fare well" to the course. I, for one, will miss playing the hills over the next seven weeks, but alas, failing sunlight is already beginning to take its toll on available weeknight golf time. Camp Fortune has never played so well so far into the season, and 2007 only promises to be better. Enough of the poetic blather, though, here are the results for the evening:

Gross Scores:
Rank Last First Gross
1 Meldrum Jeff 55
1 Wormald Rob 55
3 Reitlingshoefer Claus 56
4 Penton Geoff 58
5 Vinet Eric 62
6 Bourgeois Paul 67
7 Myre Stephane 71

Net Scores:
Rank Last First Handicap Gross Net
1 Reitlingshoefer Claus 8 56 48
2 Wormald Rob 6 55 49
3 Meldrum Jeff 5 55 50
4 Penton Geoff 6 58 52
5 Myre Stephane 18 71 53
6 Vinet Eric 8 62 54
7 Bourgeois Paul 12 67 55

Finishing in first place with $14, was Claus Reitlingshoefer. He was all smiles after his fantastic round.
Finishing in second place with $7 was Rob Wormald who has now finished well for two weeks in a row.

This was the third and final installment of the fourth quarterback challenge of the season, and the champion proved to be Geoff Penton who dominated the field of players that made it out in the past three weeks. Geoff claimed all of the quarterback pot. He went home with $31, and the need for a new pair of shoes. Complete results are here:

Rank Last First 1st Round 2nd Round 3rd Round Total
1 Penton Geoff 56 53 58 167
2 Vinet Eric 58 57 62 177
3 Bourgeois Paul 68 61 67 196
4 Myre Stephane 71 65 71 207

What a great night of golf it was...
