I just wanted to mention, for the benefit of those (like me) that have difficulty keeping their discs on the fairway along holes 18, 7, and 8, that those waxy, green and soon to start turning redish three-leaf low-growing plants are indeed poison ivy. I know of at least one person that has developed a rash, and we are only at the beginning of the season that sees this stuff producing the oils that some have an allergic reaction to. If you know yourself to be sensitive to poison ivy, or if you aren't sure and you don't want to find out,
  • Wear pants or long socks and shoes, not sandles;
  • Carry a plastic grocery bag in your disc bag. You can use this to pick up a disc (just as if you were picking up after a dog) that lands in the middle of a patch of poison ivy. Quarantine the disc until you have a chance to properly clean it.
  • If your disc goes into the woods, find a place that is clear of poison ivy to enter the bush. The infestation appears to be isolated to the very edge of the treeline, so once you're away from the edge, there is less risk of brushing against the oily leaves.
