the return of Über-Works:

Players will be grouped according to ability in cards of 4 or 5.

As long as we have a minimum of 12 players, it will be possible to have all groups with either 4 or 5 players.

sign-in 6:15 pm, tee-off 6:30 pm.

here's a breakdown of what we'll do. We'll use monopoly, or Work$ and then scale afterwards:

CTPs - $1 collected from each opponent for each CTP

FIBs - $1 collected from each opponent for each FIB

Birdies - $1 collected from each opponent for each birdie

Deuce Metal - (missed putt) 50c collected from each opponent for each occurance

Skins - 50c collected from each opponent for each skin

Full membership - (bogey free round) $2 collected from each opponent (shared if multiple full members)

Last to lose membership - (last player to bogey) $1 collected from each opponent (shared if happens at same hole)

Ace - $5 collected from each opponent

Low Net score - $2 collected from each opponent, except 2nd place finisher

Payout is calculated based on proportion of Works money won, excluding anyone's total that is negative.

LN points will be 10 for most Works money, decrement of 2 per ranks below this.

You may consult an example spreadsheet showing how all these results ought to be handled: http://www.odgc.ca/files/theWorksdemo.xls

the example does not contain birdies, they're new for 06

Yes, Metal on Drive, that wonderful tally that so many of us hope to make over a season... on our first drive only, though wink

My ankle is coming along, I can almost walk without a limp... I'm going to wrap it with a tensor bandage and put this brace thing that i bought on...

Ken: I'll be there between 615 and 625 because i'm coming from an appointment downtown. Can You reserve me a spot please and I'll pay sometime, whenever I can, after or before...

Euro and Eric ripped it up on our card with 8 skins a piece and a healthy amount of FIBS, CTPs, and Metal Deuces. Kenny D might get a few pennies and a new low-value nickname. I should (thankfully) be shut out, as I'd rather have a "0" next to my name than, say, 37 cents. Confused

Luke won his card for low-score on the "C" card, playing with Peaches, Hobbler, and Gilles. Smile Not sure what happened to the "B" card players, which consisted of Mike Mic, Paullie B, Zonker Rod, and Stéphane, but I think Mike had a good round.

Hey, Rod, how's the arm?

Rod finished with a 7-7-7. He had to withdraw due to injury (and not of the horrible, debilitating, urination kind either wink ). Mike and Rod were tied exactly until that point, I think. Rod landed 8 First-ins in a row before throwing his arm out.

Wish it were true. I got the majority of the skins but Paul and Rod got most of the ctps, fibs, metals etc. Paul also got low score. I ended up with a circle 5 on the mando hole when the other three on the card got birds. Definitely chose the wrong disc for that hole.

edit spelling

A good turnout of 12 players, making 3 cards of 4.

L'ODGC souhaite la bienvenue à M. Gilles Despaties, qui s'est inscrit comme membre à vie hier soir!

The format of über-works was well enjoyed, and without further ceremony, here are the results: (excuse the lack of pro formatting...)

deuce metal 2 3 3 5
birdies 2 0 3 2
fib 6 3 3 6
skins 4 0 7 7
full memb 0 0 0 0
last memb 0 0 1 0
ace 0 0 0 0
low net 1 0 2 2

Works money $2.50 -$39.50 $20.50 $16.50

payout $0.76 $0.00 $6.23 $5.01

LN points 3 1.5 6 4.5

Card 2

Mike Paul Rod Stéphane
ctp 4 8 4 2
deuce metal 1 5 0 2
birdies 4 4 4 2
fib 5 4 9 0
skins 14 4 0 0
full memb 0 0 0 0
last memb 0 1 0 0
ace 0 0 0 0
low net 2 1 0 0

Works money $18.00 $26.00 $2.00 -$46.00

payout $4.70 $6.78 $0.52 $0.00

LN points 4.5 6 3 1.5

Card 3

Ken Don Eric Stefan
ctp 6 1 4 7
deuce metal 3 2 3 2
birdies 4 0 5 6
fib 1 2 7 8
skins 2 0 8 8
full memb 0 0 0 0
last memb 0 0 0 1
ace 0 0 0 0
low net 0 0 2 1

Works money -$14.00 -$52.00 $20.00 $46.00

payout $0.00 $0.00 $3.64 $8.36

LN points 3 1.5 4.5 6

No Aces, pool is now up to $48.

I've just edited this post, the spreadsheet hadn't been updated to include the value of birdies in the calculation. There are some LN point and payout changes as a consequence of this. Sorry for the error.

Woo Hoo!
Ken, I'll take my earnings in the form of credit for one (1) doubles registration fee, and donate the remaining $1.20 to the ODGC. The ace pot is going to be mine!

Woohoo is right!

I'm bringing $0.99 next time, Ken. Can't make it next week, but will be there the week following I hope.

In all honesty, donate it to the Capital Classic. $5.01 in added cash, baby! You hear that, Kiwi!

PEACH

Mike parked his shot on #1 to claim 10 skins with a 10' putt.
