This week we return to Camp Fortune to play the long teepads.
Sign-in by 6:15, and we'll be golfing by 6:30. We are going to start at 6:30 sharp in order to get all 18 holes in. Try and leave some buffer time for traffic, and the added distance to the course. We'll meet at the chairlift closest to the lower parking lot.

Cards will be ordered according to Quarterback standing. Members with handicaps: even if your name isn't on the quarterback list, you are still eligable for the weekly honours! All other players are always welcome to join in the action.

This is the third and final week of the 2nd Quarterback Series of the season. Somebody is going home with the spoils. The current contenders include:

Rank Last First Total
1 Dobrev Stefan 91
1 Penton Geoff 91
3 Meldrum Jeff 92
4 Visser Carl 93
5 Pengelly Arthur 98
6 Wormald Rob 99
7 Lane Don 101
8 Leach Andrew 106
8 Vinet Eric 106
10 Reitlingshoefer Claus 107
11 McCormick Mike 109
11 Bourgeois Paul 109
13 Svetkoff Ben 114
14 Doucette Dan 115
15 Pengelly Dawn 118
16 Myre Stephane 119
17 Leslie Robyne 127

Player handicaps for the event are as follows:
Bason Mark 12
Bourgeois Paul 12
Burgoin Chris 16
Darcovich Ken 8
Dobrev Stefan 4
Doucette Dan 15
Fowler Mike 19
Heginbottom James 11
Lane Don 10
Lariviere Jeff 12
Legare Pierre 20
Lepack Jason 10

McCormick Mike 14
McDonald Colin 8
Meldrum Jeff 6

Just a little look at the current quarterback standings, and the positions available to be had:

1 Dobrev Stefan 91
1 Penton Geoff 91
3 Meldrum Jeff 92
4 Visser Carl 93

This first card is so close it's unbelievable. We should be casting bets on who will win. A solid game by any of these players will yield 1st place. 5 strokes and one place later,

5 Pengelly Arthur 98
6 Wormald Rob 99
7 Lane Don 101

5th place is wide open as well. 3 strokes is nothing to make up on this course, and Arthur is going to have to play well in order to keep his spot. 5 strokes and one place later,

8 Leach Andrew 106
8 Vinet Eric 106
10 Reitlingshoefer Claus 107
11 McCormick Mike 109
11 Bourgeois Paul 109

Eric will be looking to claim 8th place outright, and Andrew has been putting in some hot rounds lately. Once again, 3 strokes is a fair gap for Mike and Paul to make up. Finishing ahead of Clausr with his 7 handicap would be an excellent feather in any of these player's caps. 5 strokes and one place later,

13 Svetkoff Ben 114
14 Doucette Dan 115
15 Pengelly Dawn 118
16 Myre Stephane 119
17 Leslie Robyne 127

Ben has a one-stroke lead on Dan, but the 4 strokes on Dawn is leaving 13th wide-open as well. Tuesday's round should be one of the most exciting of the season!

While the total pot will be unknown until players show up at the course on Tuesday, it currently sits at $9.50, and should be worth over $14.

So assuming I make it this Tuesday, will I have a handicap after my third Tuesday night? It will be my third round but at two different courses and three sets of teepads.

Also, could someone point me in the direction of an explanation of the QB challenge, please?

Thanks.

big grin

Brother

Yes. You need three rounds, regardless of the courses. You will have a handicap for the 20th of June, and will be able to participate fully as a member with a player handicap.

Jebus! This is why we have such silly laws in Canada. To protect the dumb. This is the real reason the US can't have gov't funded medi care.

There's no way that this would happen to Claus. Isn't he required to wear a Helmet at all times? sly wink

Scores for the night were as follows:

Congratulations, Stefan and Jeff! Your adjusted scores of 49 saw you tie for the low score of the evening. You take home $13.50 each.

This was the final round of the 2nd Quarterback challenge, and the scores were as follows:

Rank Last First 1st Round 2nd Round 3rd Round Total
1 Dobrev Stefan 44 47 53 144

Next week we will restart the Quarterback Challenge. Stay posted for a change in how we'll be paying this one out.

Heh, thanks. Too bad I did not have single round approaching this during the OD tour at Camp Fortune. Hopefully, I have something left in the tank for the Pittsburg next weekend.

Melrdum's sneeky +1 wasn't bad either.

I hope Paul and Brother Andre have some good footage, there were some real nice shots....

awesome, can't wait to see the footage!

I've got a video input on my computer so if you need to get the content into a digital format just let me know. Using the movie maker in windows is so easy, you could edit it together very nicely! eek

A quick observation about last evening's round:

There was enough sunlight for all groups to finish, even the "Masters-Heavy" card of ClausR and Gorgeous Don. Cool ET took too few strokes to slow his group down too (some nice golf played last night, Stefan).

Next week's round is at Jacques Cartier park, and we'll be leveraging the maximum sunlight of the season in two weeks to play some more great golf at Camp Fortune.

New players are ALWAYS welcome. Come out and see what all of the talk is about!
