Is anything OB at Camp Fortune? I am thinking particularly of the creek that runs across #17. Thanks.

big grin

I think rivers are out of bounds. There are rivers on:
holes 15 to 18,

The creeks will be casual water. There's too much luck, or lack of luck, involved with landing in those creeks.

The only OB on the course is on hole 4.

The new placement for #4 is an island. The island is defined by the road in front and the pipes that run along the back. It will be marked for the OD.

Is the area to the left of the dirt road on no. 18 no longer OB ??

The creek on no. 17 seems to be bad shot rather than bad luck...

I agree. Perhaps the creek on 17 can be like the 2m rule. TD can decide whether it is a penalty or not.

As for 18, the jury is still out on that one. It's coming down to marking the line. I am going to go and determine if there is a clear line between road and grass and let you know.

All this will be clarified at the players' meeting.

OB should be there to deter people from making unsafe throws, like at JCP. The "roads" at CF, are not really roads. Does making #18's road OB make 18 a better hole? The whole course is tough enough to have OB just to have OB. 18 is not a guaranteed birdie and there's enough behind and in front of to still make it a good hole without OB. Maybe in it's old placement it meant more, but if you go OB on 18 I'd rather see people make a 3 from where they lie. Odds are they'll be taking a 4 anyways.

#4 now is kinda short, and with addition of the island makes it a challenging shot - especially going long as I found .

The water on #17 is fun, but OD Tour rules are usually play as you lie. So if you're in the water, you're getting wet. Much funner than a extra stroke.

The mood of Camp Fortune should be if you throw it there, you should play it from there.

Please excuse my misuse of the word casual. I meant to say that you play from the lie (akin to standing in a puddle at OMR's).

I agree with the comment on 18 too.

Quote:

OD Tour Rules
For simplicity sake we will be following the standard PDGA rules of play, with the following notable exceptions.

*WATER IS NOT AUTOMATICALLY OUT OF BOUNDS.
If you are able to play your lie within the three minnute window you will not incur a penalty stroke. You lie is considered OB if you cannot play from it or reach it in time.
