It's a Ace Run Extravaganza! (Except when it isn't!) Come one, come all to TOSS 19, a fun event at the Kanata Disc Golf Course on THURSDAY, September 6, with the round starting at 5:45. Please be at the course by 5:30.

There will be prizes on every hole! Prizes for the best Raw Score! Prizes for the Worst Raw Score! Prizes for the best Handicapped Score!

There WILL be O/B. There WILL be Mandos. There will be a Long Drive competition. There will be an Ace Pot. There will be goofiness, and many other things I can come up with. You won't want to miss this one, though, at the end of the round, you may want to have missed this one.

Entry fee is $5.00. TOSS Season Pass does not apply for this event. All proceeds from this event will go to the payout for adjusted score. That's right, rather than the typical payout of $3 per player, the cashers will share all five bucks!

All the rules will be discussed at the players meeting. Please be at the course, and at Tournament Headquarters, and paid, by 5:30, as the players meeting will be called at that time!

If you wish to donate prizes for this event, please send me a private message via the forums here.

TOSS 19 is my way, as the Series Organizer, and primary Tournament Director, of our League Night events to say thank you to each and every person who came out and joined us this year. TOSS events in 2018 were comprised of 295 player rounds. That's an average of 16.4 players on each of the Tuesday nights.

Seriously though, thanks to all of you who joined us this year. I hope to see you all on Thursday, June 6 at the Kanata DGC.

Also, congratulations to Andrew Vallee, who carded an ace on our second tour of hole 4, earning him the Ace Pot of $40.

Other winners, and a non-complete list:
Chris Beaudoin won the FU prize, a Dynamic Discs DG Backpack graciously donated by Chris Morrison.
Ken Darcovich, who made everyone buy him beers (by winning the CTB).
Mike Adams, who won a long putt, some CTPS, and shared the Raw Winner prize with Andrew Vallee, and finished second adjusted.
Andrew Vallee, who shared best Raw Score with Mike Adams, won a long putt, and a couple of CTP, and had the best adjusted score.
Jon Lebrun, who finished third adjusted, and crushed the long drive competition. Dude's got arms!
Chris Bourne, who finished fourth adjusted, and won a CTP or two.

I'm sure there are more, but I can't remember them now. Landry won something, Huhta won something, I think Foster won something, everybody won something!

It is and isn't an Ace run???
I suppose this means that we get two drives on each hole. Sounds great.

If it's ok with Mark, I would like to run a CTB for this event.

Oh also, IN.

CTB

The CTB is a sign-up-to-enter CTP contest, part of the TOSS19 event.

To enter, please provide one beer to the CTB beer kitty.
Preferably 500 mL size, craft quality.

I would like to use hole 9 for the CTB.

CTB in effect for both rounds.

Winner takes home all the beer.

I will have a few extra beers with me for those who arrive without,
available at the extortionary cost of $4 each. ( better to
bring your own.... big grin )

Sounds awesome, Atos. Hope to make it.

Question: How will the long distance comp work? How many drives does one get? I need to know how many Merlins to get from Wah.

Long drive competition will tee off near the fence at hole 8, playing across the soccer field toward basket 2. There will be a marked teepad, and left/right boundaries for a "legal" throw. Each participant will get four throws. Two throws during the "front nine", and two throws during the "back nine". All players will play the long drive comp. You can think of the long-drive competition as hole 8.5, but counting as zero strokes for your Disc Golf round. Play hole 8 as normal, then play the long drive, then play hole nine as normal.

The long drive will be marked with a flag. If you beat it, move the flag, and sign your name.

If there is a soccer game on, I'll figure something else out. smile

In!

I'm thinking players ought to have the option to throw from the longs if they prefer. (Hole 8 might be a more comfortable Ace run from the longs plus a nice arm stretch for the Long Drive)

In.

I will also be bringing player waivers forms for any of our local players who are traveling to PEI for Nationals.

You can also download the form and give it to me at TOSS if you like.
