This one is one of my favourites! It's
TOSS 2016 [9] / QB Challenge 3.3
June 28
at The Kanata DGC.
All disc golfers are welcome!
Tournament Central is by the parking lot, and
The round starts at 5:45.
BE AT THE COURSE BY 5:30PM TO REGISTER!
Fees are $5
Exact change appreciated.
This week's TD: Mark Atos

Details about TOSS 2016 [9]:
  • The field is open to a maximum of 36 players. Pre-register to guarantee your spot!
  • TOSS is operating an Ace Pool as a fundraiser for a future club tournament. $2.00 gets you in the pool, with $1.00 from each entry going to a Club Event. Ace pools not won carry over to the following week's TOSS event. The current Ace Pot value is $74. See Mark Atos for more details.
  • Directions to the Kanata course are here: Directions
  • We're playing twenty-seven holes of disc golf. Be prepared for this. The tee assignments for this event are Short-Long-Short.
  • All cards must play the course in order.
  • With 17 realistic chances at an ace, an optional $5 ace pot will be opened to the players, with all buy-in split amongst golfers hitting an ace. In the unlikely event that there are no aces, this pot will be decided by a CTP throwoff on hole 9, from the tee, where all three of your in-round drives count toward the CTP.
  • Adjusted round scores will be calculated by subtracting one and a half times your handicap from your raw score.

Out of Bounds
- Onto or over all paths/roads/parking lots.
- Inside the fence bounding the City of Ottawa building near the parking lot.
- Onto, or inside the running track on hole 6 fairway (including the 100m sprint start area).
- Inside the baseball diamond.
- 2 metre IS NOT in effect. You're welcome.

20 James, Aaron 85 8.1 76.9
21 Foster, Neil 104 20.7 83.3
22 Ainsworth, Terry 85 0.0 85.0

Congratulations to Brenda, Allysha, Mark, and Stephanie, who took home $26, $20, $13, and $7 respectively for beating the handicapped field.

Congratulations to Geoff Penton and Jeff Lariviere, who each took $26 as QB Pool winners, Geoff with a total score of 181, and Jeff with 197.

Fun facts!
The average score for all players was 81.73. The average score for all players within 1 standard deviation on the score curve was exactly 81. Par.

There were 153 birdies, 312 pars, 94 bogeys, and 35 worse than bogey holes played last night. That's 594 holes. That's a lot of golf.

Every hole, except 7 shorts, saw scores of 2, 3 and 4. 7 shorts did not card a bogey all night, and only carded >4 twice.

Ken Darcovich birdied 56% of the holes.
Cyle Prange birdied 52%
Mark Atos and Geoff Penton birdied 48%

Geoff Penton and Cyle Prange did not score higher than par on any hole.

I will also be able to accept registrations to the Outaouais Open at this event. I will be on vacation back east for the next 2-3 TOSS events after this one, but Kyle Fisher may be able to attend these to give local players additional opportunities to pre-pay and secure their spot in the tournament.

www.dgscene.com/oo16

Online registrations will also be up this evening at www.adgm.ca for those we can't easily meet up with in person.

See you on our mountain! Represent!

Here are your QB Challenge standings going into Round 3:

HDCP/Last, First/Rd7/Rd8/Cumulative
0.6 Pike, Steve 56 57 113
0.9 Darcovich, Ken 62 52 114
1.9 Penton, Geoff 59 54 113
2.5 Reitlingshoefer, Claus 58 55 113
3.3 Doucette, Rob 67 65 132
5.5 Adams, Mike 62 66 128
7.1 Lariviere, Jeff 62 60 122
7.9 Houle, Mario 69 63 132
8.4 Seguin, Serge 69 64 133
26.3 Lavino, Allysha 81 79 160

I'm sure you can figure out the pools from there.

Super excitement in Pool A, though, with the top four players all within one stroke of each other...

Pool Value is at $30 + $1 for each registered player tonight.

Here, let me try to relieve your bafflement.

It happens.

In your case, your "best raw score" produced a differential of 1.93. Your 21st previous differential that got dropped was a 0.32, so that exchange sent your HC higher. That's the way the egg rolls.
