This is my first draft at a press release that will get out in the next couple of days. If there's anyone out there with experience with such a thing, please help in adding or subtracting anything from it.

The Ottawa Disc Golf Club Presents Disc Golf in the Park

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Ottawa, ON - The Ottawa Disc Golf Club, in partnership with the Ottawa-Carleton Ultimate Association, Daredevil Discs, the Ontario Disc Sports Association and the Ultimate Disc Golf Store, will celebrate 15 years of disc golf in Ottawa, by presenting Disc Golf in the Park, taking place at Hog’s Back Park on June 8th and 9th.

The Ottawa Disc Golf Club is proud to bring Disc Golf in the Park to Hog’s Back Park to celebrate 15 years of disc golf in the Ottawa region. Disc Golf in the Park will have feature a 12 hole disc golf course, an introductory course, on site course pros, clinics, and disc manufacturers.

The course will be open from 8-8 on Saturday June 8th, and 8-5 on Sunday June 9th. The event is free of charge. There will be disc golf discs available at the park, free of charge, though you can use any style of disc or Frisbee to play.

“Disc golf provides upper and lower body conditioning, aerobic exercise, and promotes a combination of physical and mental abilities that allow very little risk of physical injury. Concentration skills increase by mastering shots and negotiating obstacles. Players of limited fitness levels can start slowly and gradually increase their level of play as fitness improves... Disc golf offers year-round fitness, even in rain or snow. Perhaps the greatest attribute of the sport is the expense - or rather, the lack of it. A professional quality disc costs less than $15, and it only takes one for basic play.” – The Professional Disc Golf Association

The Ottawa Disc Golf Club is a volunteer driven organizaion that has been dedicated to delivering a world class disc golf experience to its members and promoting the sport of disc golf within the National Capital Region since 1998. The ODGC manages several disc golf courses in the region and hosts events that bring in disc golf tourists from all over the world. www.odgc.ca

This is one we're going with. If you have someone (radio, newspaper, tv) that you can send it too, please do. PM me who/what you've sent it to so we don't double up.
