Ottawa's Ice League continues this weekend Dec. 1st, 2012
at Alcove a private course located north of Wakefield, QC.

Alcove is an 18 hole tonal course with rolling terrain and picturesque landscapes.

THINGS TO KNOW:

I will be taking registration at 10:30am.
We will be starting up promptly at 11am so please make sure you are at HQ before then.

Carpooling is highly encouraged as the parking lot can only hold so many vehicles.

Dress appropriately. It's a big course similar to playing a round at Camp Fortune with more up and downs.
With that being said, dressing to stay warm is the way to go.

DIRECTIONS TO ALCOVE:

Address for Google maps/GPS usage; 44 chemin Echo Dale, la Pêche, QC

Get on Highway 5 as if you were heading to Camp Fortune but don’t exit at Old Chelsea,
instead continue until the end of HWY 5 where there is a T intersection with a set of lights turn left on to HWY 105N.

Stay on this highway (the 105 north) until it ends where you will merge taking a right onto Chemin Maclaren the 105 bypass that takes you around Wakefield. At the first set of lights you will take a left back onto the HWY 105.

You're back on the 105 heading north and the highway eventually splits into a four-lane and up ahead, looming on the left, you will see a massive sandpit. Turn left onto the dirt road (Chemin Echo Dale) when you get to the pit. Stacie's driveway is the first driveway on the right, which is half a click from the highway.

It is a long driveway, and you can't see the house until the end of the driveway
(if you have 4 wheel drive you might like to use it now). Park when you get to the house.

Hope to see you all out there on Saturday!

This could very well be the "first snowfall bonus point" event if the weather continues as forecasted;

If anyone is willing to car pool from mont. bleu & marcoux in gatineau I would really appreciate it. I could also meet someone down the hill right at mont bleu just off the 5 by the Harley dealership.

My winter tires go on on Monday and I don't want to risk the driveway with all seasons and front wheel drive.

[EDIT]: It's also a decent trip out that way so carpooling seams like a good idea regardless.

Chelsea.

Quote:
Saturday Cloudy with 60 percent chance of flurries or rain showers. Low minus 9. High plus 4

They don't have a Wakefield option. I don't know much about the towns around Alcove.

It's more north and a higher elevation than Chelsea so that rain should turn to snow up at Alcove.

I'm always surprise at hoe much colder it is up there compared to Ottawa.

Dress warm folks.

This is different from usual ILs, right?

Correct, I have been using the 11am start in an effort to get people out to the course earlier and back home sooner.

This noon start at Alcove is to accommodate a possible late Friday night thus giving our hostess some much needed rest.

I still encourage folks to register as early as they can as we have no other option than to all tee off from hole 1, thus giving me an opportunity to send a card out if ready before the noon start.

Of course this is all dependent on people arriving on time and not at 11:59.
