We got to remember to remove the lights...and then remember to put them back up. And when I say "we" I mean Gobbles.

Me?

Lights? I don't remember hitting any lights...

That's because I removed them last year. This year it's your turn. We took a vote, and you WON!! Congratulations!

Andros is the man (Holly, the woman) to get these bad boys. He'll probably read this tonight or tomorrow morning, and if he has some, will bring them tomorrow.

Anecdote from today:

On the 10th tee an older couple were walking nearby and were watching us and the group ahead of us playing. The man came up to us and said, "Is this a real game? We're foreign." I explained a little about disc golf, found out they were from the Auvergne region in France, and further explained that yes, this is kind of a subculture sport, but it is also played in France.

A minute later, his memory jogged, he came back to tell us that when he was young, he grew up in the Pyrénées, and as part of a festival every summer, there was a beret throwing contest in the town square. Disc golf reminded him of that.

I looked into it, it appears to be a distance contest. World record is 35.20 meters. His wife commented that this is just more modernization, things have gone from wool to plastic...

Here's a video link: (having trouble embedding it since it's not youtube...)
http://www.wat.tv/video/beret-en-fete-dans-pyrenees-5a4u5_2eyxv_.html

It also seems that the pro rugby team from the city of Pau has a half-time spectacle of a beret throwing contest for fans:

The third Ice League of the 2012-2013 season held at a temp layout in
Vincent Massey Park attracted a solid 22 participants.

In the end it was the team of myself and Mike Adams that took top honors
with a blistering score of -21 (57) on the challenging par 78 (24 hole) layout.

1. Andrew Vallee & Mike Adams (57,-21)
2. Jeff Lariviere & Errol Melancon (62,-16)
3. Ken Darcovich & Trevor Fiander (64, -14)
4. Ken Little & Ryan Briggs (67,-11)
5. Aaron James & Serge Seguin (68,-10)
6. Don Lane & Stacie Sivyer (69,-9)
7. Shane Kilpatrick & Holly DeCoste (71,-7)
7. Claus Reitlingshoefer & Adrian Meunier (71,-7)
9. Alex Weirdsma & Ben Svetkoff (72, -6)
10. Gavin Schnobb & Rob Hale (73, -5)
11. Geoff Penton & Steve Crane (74, -4)

Thanks to everyone that helped setup/takedown baskets.

IL standings will be posted as soon as I get them uploaded.

Ice League will continue this Saturday December 17th at
Ettyville
a private course near Bourget,ON.

I know all of those words, but that sentence makes no sense to me.

Also, witness Penton's unfortunate turn of events on our second pass through Hole 4.
