This was my first tourney. I think i'll be doing more of it. This weekend, the weather, the smoothly operated event and the quality people really gave me the golf bug. All I want to do now is play more.

Great job Mark and all the volunteers!

Really had fun Very Happy

Lollipops:

- TD - great work on organizing. Everything was taken care of for the players, which helped us focus on the game
- volunteers who helped the TD
- lunches - it was great having a hot meal after the morning rounds.
- weather - couldn't have asked for better conditions
- being able to use the big lodge as the tourney HQ. We owe CF a debt of gratitude for their continued support
- mountain grooming - thanks to all the club and non-club volunteers for grooming the mountain. It looks amazing. You guys and gals rock!
- four rounds on the mountain improved my game!
- great cardmates, who made the MA3 division competitive!

Lemons:

None that I can think of at the moment.

L&L from the TD:

Lollipops:

- having travelling players from as far away as North Bay and St. Thomas come to our event.
- the course maintenance crew, led by Eric Vinet, has done, as usual, a fantastic job of balancing the threat of lost discs with playable surface. Without their tireless efforts with lawn mowers, weed whackers, shovels and wheelbarrows, the Camp Fortune disc golf course would be a nightmare to play on.
- not a single card was turned in with an error on it. Congratulations to all of you!

Lemons:

- I erred in the player's meeting in the definition of out-of-bounds. This became an issue on one card during the weekend. I had, in the player's meeting, defined OB as being "beyond the OB line", i.e. if you are touching the OB paint line, you are in bounds. 803.09A states" The out-of-bounds line itself is considered out-of-bounds". I apologize for this mistake, though the hole was scored as though the disc in question was OB.
- I made a mistake in the tabulation of one player's score in round four, resulting in a mistaken announcement at the award ceremony regarding a third place finish (that was actually a tie, and was quickly rectified by both tied players).
- moving the start time for round four up by fifteen minutes meant that one player who was not present for that announcement did not have sufficient time to prepare for the final round (and only reached his hole well after the two minute warning was given. I'm sorry about that.
- only 16 ODGC members participated in the Capital Classic this year.

Amazing course. Super smooth, well run event. Kudos to everyone involved in anything to do with Camp Fortune.

I only have one lemon - the hypno-acid-electronica was kinda distracting Sudnay afternoon. Any music would have been; I would just leave it off and save it for casual events.

Lollies
Course maintenance is out of this world
Weather
HQ on the upper deck
Facilities open on Sunday
Lunch both days
Results posted quickly
Registration and organization over all
A round of longs for FAM
UDGS avails for cashout
Players packs (simple, useful, sharp)
Players who travelled all the way out to our beautiful mountain

Lemons
Late start on Saturday
Music on Sunday
Facilities closed on Saturday
No paparazzi
No dedicated spotters
Mixed cards first round (which was ok), followed by complete dedication to keeping divisions and leaders together (not as cool)
Only one round of longs for FAM
Awards ceremony was a little choppy
Ladies who caddy instead of play
My second day of play >: (

Super tart lemon
Complete lack of ODSA support. Was there any? I couldn't tell. No one brought out the little canopy thing. No encouraging speech at the Midland event. No ODSA representative on the course.

Probably should have only had music at the lunch break, and at the end of the day. But variety was lacking...

Plus:

Condition of the course, thanks ODGC volunteers!
Lunch provided.
The out of town players making the effort to come to CF.
The players on my cards. They all contributed to a great weekend.
From the 2nd round on, strict adherence to rank based cards by division. Essential for competitive DG.

Minus:

The OB on hole 1 being on the side of the road nearer to the basket. What this ended up doing (because of how short the grass was mowed...) was making roll-away discs end up OB. Insult to injury. The base of the sharp slope was at the OB line. If the OB line gets moved across the road, we're still penalizing errant drives (presumably the intent of the OB), but not penalizing bad luck.

Silver Lining:

The turn-out of 27 players meant an uncongested course, and little if any waiting to tee off during the tournament.

Special thanks to Mark Atos for putting in a lot of effort to organize and host the event. Thanks also to Ben Svetkoff for his help with running the event.
