It's not a discussion if you just repeat the same point and if you claim any counter points to be irrational.

thanks for this outstanding contribution.

BBP settled it by quoting the rules, which I missed.

Until that point, everyone was just happily piling on to slam me.

The answer is YES.

The answer is YES.

Wait! I came up with another one.

OMPL is a tournament that SHOULD take place on tournament courses, with a tournament atmosphere (tournament anxiety, tournament level course, etc). Just because I haven't played an object tournament course doesn't mean they don't exist, but I've never even heard of one (I haven't googled it yet), and in Ottawa they don't happen.

Object golf is fun (I do it every night in the summer), and some may say adding object golf to OMPL would make it more fun (some may even say "more funner"). To this I say match play in itself is fun enough. I enjoy the format tremendously. It's a great break from stroke play.

(And now back on topic) OMPL courses SHOULD be tournament calibre courses, or even, should offer a sanctioned tournament in the year--sanctioned at a club level or a PDGA level.

I have a vested interest in MB (as a primary designer and a service offerer for $$) so my opinion is tainted when it comes to this course, but I think that this reasoning, and the Holing Out rule can bring perspective to this discussion.

OMPL is a tournament. A hard tournament to compete in as you have to keep it together over an entire season (mind you, you can bring it Claus-e style in September and do well, but...). Adding object courses and backyard courses will take away from the integrity of the tournament, and probably venture pretty far from Rolly's vision of a two tiered league. And it's Rolly's vision that keeps this going every year.

There. I sounded better in my head last night, as most things do, but it's better than another bear video. Maybe. Probably not.

Me and Stace played our match there last year. I think it's allowed.

I'm almost certain Rolly's allready sanctioned Alcove, though I can't find a quote just now.
