The Presidents Cup recognizes the year's best club player.

Ottawa Disc Golf Club members have established a tradition of participation and competitive excellence. The Presidents Cup recognizes the accomplishments of the person who best upholds that tradition. Series points are awarded at ODGC tournaments and league nights. The competitor with the most points - calculated from their top five finishes - wins.

Rules for the Presidents Cup Series

1. ODGC Sanctioned Tournaments for the Presidents Cup Series are divided into 2 tiers. Tier 1 events are worth double the points of the Tier 2 events. Points allocation is also determined by the amount of players competing at an event. Please refer to PC 2011 Point Allocation tables found in this thread.

2. The ODGC reserves the right to reschedule its calendar of events, including Presidents Cup Series events. In the event that an event must be rescheduled, every effort will be made to provide at least 30 days notice of the change. Where 30 days notice is not given, the ODGC reserves the right to relieve the event of its Presidents Cup Series status.

3. Only CURRENT ODGC Members are included in the PC Series. You must be current by the Capital Classic to be included in the Presidents Cup Series (exceptions will be made for players becoming LIFETIME ODGC (current) Members during the PC season or new members to the ODGC).

4. A player's top 5 events will be used to contribute to their PC Point Total for the end of the year. The top 5 events can be any combination of tier 1 or tier 2 events.

5. Ties Receive Maximum Points:

A) In the event of a tie, all players tied for the same position will receive PC Points as though they finished alone in that position.

B) Notwithstanding A) above, PC Points will be awarded according to which position a player finishes in, a player's position being determined by the number of finishers with a better overall score.

6. All tournaments included in the PC 2011 will allow players from both the Amateur divisions and the Open divisions to accumulate points toward their totals. Though, a player must compete in the top Am division, or Open division to have their points count towards their totals.

7. All tournaments in the PC race will have the top Am division play the exact same t-pads as the Open division.

8. A player must finish the tournament to earn points (definition of “finishing” an event will be left to the discretion of the TD of the event).

9. Running along with the PC Series is the Bourgie Saucer Race where, if applicable, adjusted scores, or other alternative methods will be used to rank player's finishes. A player's top 5 events will be used to contribute to their BS Point Total for the end of the year. The top 5 events can be any combination of tier 1 or tier 2 events. A player must play (and finish) in at least 5 BS events to have their point totals count for the championship.

Events that qualify for the 2011 Bourgie Saucer are: Ice Bowl, Mud Slide at the Cove, King of the Oonie, The GOAT, Capital Classic, MOD, Falling Colours, Plaid, TOSS Most Improved, LNF.

10. The Presidents Cup Champion will have their name engraved on the Presidents Cup trophy and will be allowed the opportunity to care for the PC trophy for one year.

For any information on the Presidents Cup Points Series, please PM Rob Doucette (Deuce).
