That's about the story.

Ice League dates not good. House and hockey taking all my spare time.

Parts of the course might actually be under water right now. I'll see if I can get a pic of a tonal out in a sea of water or the new house in a sea of mud.

Late February might work for something. House will be further done and more able to accomodate a crowd with some comforts. I'll check the schedules.

Looking to 2007 for Ettyville to possibly be a Sunday course. I'm further out of the city and the regular league events take up the week days. It might just be something that works.

Sorry to have to miss the Ice League.

Bring your standard disc golf footwear along with some higher boots in case it's wet out there, as we won't be able to get a sitrep until the day of the event.

Driving instructions to the Flat Mountain course can be found over here on our web site.

If you'd like a ride, just post on here and someone will be able to help you out.

A special prize will be awarded to the first person to sink the #9 station in the Ice Putt.

I was going to skip this league because I thought it was going to rain again.
Not likely according to the weather network, we might actually get an icy day for the ice league. Yay!
Plus I have to attemt station #9 as well.

Are you talking about Stacie's or JCP. If it's Stacie's; with the snow, it'll be Yeti like. We'll keep it the same as it is, as some people have yet played it in it's normal state. In the summer we'll make some trips out there to play it silly-style.

I'm bringing my crazy carpet.

If it's JCP, check the top of the Ice League thread.

Today, we played in true Ice Bowl conditions. with a starting temperature of -15C, and winds over 40 kph, making the air temperature feel like -29C.

Bbbrrrrrrrrrrrr! However, eight hearty souls made the trek out to Jacques Cartier Park, where the sun did it's best to cut through and made it fun for us all.

The revised course made for some unique shots, as we played the Odd numbered baskets for nine holes, and then turned around and played those double-length holes backwards. This made for some really long holes such as #17 to #1, where all teams took 5 strokes to complete the hole, and some tiny holes, which brought up our hopes of going home with the $126 Ace Pot.

The Ace money is still safe, as no team was able to capitalize, even on the short holes between the #13 and #15 baskets.

We were also glad to save the embarassment as we didn't have to call Peaches to have him dig up his roof-retrieval-device, as the discs stayed off the Maison's roof (barely). eek

The final results from today's Ice League were:

Result JCB B2B Forwards Odds x2 Score Points Partic. Ttl. Pts Payout
1= S. Dobrev & Ben Svetkoff 59 100 4 104 $6.00 ea
1= A. Pengelly & Marc Fortin 59 100 4 104 $6.00 ea
3 Don Lane & Rod Nicholls 63 90 2 92
4 G. Rowland & Andrew Vallée 71 86 1 87

Notable changes on the Ice League ranking include a rapid rise by Kiwi from 12th in to 6th, shifting Rolly to the outside looking in. Marc Fortin also rose up two spots, and Svetz moved past Twirly in to 3rd place.

Meanwhile in the Ice Putt, we had 6 competitors play 14 rounds in windy conditions. and Splash came out on top with 19 pts, earning $12.50 and 10 Ice Bucks. The CTP winner this week was Rolly, who takes home his second Godfather Card and 20 Ice Bucks.

Full results of the Ice Putt were:

1. 19 pts - Splash - $12.50, 10 Ice Bucks, 6 pts
2= 12 pts - Kiwi, 5 pts
2= 12 pts - Euro, 5 pts
4. 11 pts - Marc-F, 3 pts
5= 10 pts - Zonker, 2 pts
5= 10 pts - Rolly, 2 pts

With 1 event in hand, Euro moved in to 1st place in the Ice Putt rankings, although with 2 remaining Ice Leagues and the Ice Bowl, a number of people can still make it to the top-6. The current top-6 are:

1. DOBREV, Stefan
2. LANE, Don
3. ROWLAND, Geoff
4. FORTIN, Marc
5. PENGELLY, Arthur
6. REITLINGSHOEFER, Claus

Euro's 31 pts is still holding up as a season-long high score. The highest score of the season will win a full-colour Ice Bowl aviar, and the top-six on the final ranking earn extra Ice Bucks for the Ice Auction.

Next week, we'll be playing at Stacie's snowy course in Farrlleton, which I think is an AWESOME COURSE. You'll want to be there next week, and Stacie has some good ideas on how to cap off the night later on, but I'll let her announce that one.

Stacie's place can be found on 44 Echo Dale Drive in Farrlleton. It can't easily be Googlemapped, but here is the road, and you can backtrack from it.

Rides are available for the asking... just ask away!

It will be a ton of fun in the snow out at Stacie's tomorrow. The conditions and the course terrain will be a true test of your game. Here is some info from The St-Ace on her course:

"Dress appropriately. I can't stress this enough. It's a big course, imagine playing a round at Mooney's Bay, with more up and downs. With that being said, dressing to stay warm is the way to go.

*** Wear boots. There is ankle-deep snow out here in the country, sneakers won't cut it, believe me I've tried. ***

Hope to see you all out here on Sat.

Stacie

I know that Svetz is bringing out a basket. We could use up to two other baskets, so if you have one that is easily portable, please bring it along. Thank you!

Here are the directions out to her course:

Quote:

- Jump on the 5 (same high way as to CF),go on it all the way to the end.
- At the end there is a stop sign, take a right (if you go left you'll end up on the 5 going back to town).
- About 200m up, there is a T-intersection, go left (i.e. north, following the Maniwaki signs).
- Stay on this highway (the 105 north), until the next big intersection (they are few and far between on this road, in case you miss it, you'll see a Giant Tiger on the right). Turn right go down the hill into the pretty village of Wakefield.
- At the bottom of said hill, you will come to another T-intersction, go left.
- Stay on this road, it will take you through the village, on the far side of the village there is another intersection, go straight, heading north, still following the Maniwaki signs. (FYI- I live about 6 min. drive from this intersection).
- So you're on the 105 heading north, after 3-4 minutes you will pass a garage on your left, this is your half way mark.
- Keep going on the highway, when the high way splits into a four-lane up a head, looming on the left, you will see a massive sandpit, turn left onto the dirt road (Echo Dale) when you get to the pit. My driveway is the first driveway on the right, its about 3 km from the highway, its a long driveway, you can't see the house until the end of the driveway (if you have 4 wheel drive you might like to use it).
- Park when you get to the house.

Note to everyone: I have toneas not baskets... they're better for your aim.

Good luck see you all on the 27th...

Any questions let me know?

Stacie: 819-459-3034

Check out this thread for some of the fab' comments that were made on Stacie's course.

Ice Putt will start at 11:30, and the regular part of Ice League at 12:00 noon. It's about a 40 minute drive from Twirly's store.
