... the blind downhill left hook around the wall of spruce to our left took us for a loop that day. it was our first time playing these new holes and needless to say, we were a little out of whack with our gameplan. we were throwing much less than remarkable in any case, and when we came to the teeoff at #9 we were faced with an overpowering presence. the links seemed close enough. an easy uphill drive that it would surely be an easy birdie,.. . surely... .. except for that bigass tree that stood directly between the teeoff and the hole, looming over us three norths from sideways with a thousand hungry limbs swaying in a horribly gentle trance inducing manner...

on this day we would dub her 'Maureen'. gaurdian of the #9, and predator to all ill-flighted discs. we have since learned to respect her space, but every now and then you can hear the hungry rumble of her mighty trunk, and you watch and listen to the wind whispering her name through her branches as their gentle sway lulls you in.. . deeper and deeper...

... . mooorrreeeeeennn. ..

my question to you, fellow dÕgolfers, is if you have named any of the other interesting elements of the JCP course.
