Ottawa's Ice League
continues this weekend Saturday Dec. 10th, 2016
at Alcove a private course located north of Wakefield, QC.

We will be playing one round on the 18 hole tonal course.

THINGS TO KNOW:

King Geoffrey and King Andrew are your TDs for this event

REGISTRATION: 10:15-10:45

Staggered-starts starting ~ 10:45

COURSE MAP:
See last year's thread:

http://www.odgc.ca/forums/viewtopic.php?t=11179

DIRECTIONS TO ALCOVE:
Address for Google maps/GPS usage; 44 chemin Echo Dale, la PÍche, QC

Get on Highway 5 as if you were heading to Camp Fortune but donít exit at Old Chelsea,
instead continue until the end of HWY 5 where there is a T intersection with a set of lights turn left on to HWY 105N.

Stay on this highway (the 105 north) until it ends where you will merge taking a right onto Chemin Maclaren the 105 bypass that takes you around Wakefield. At the first set of lights you will take a left back onto the HWY 105.

You're back on the 105 heading north and the highway eventually splits into a four-lane and up ahead, looming on the left, you will see a massive sandpit. Turn left onto the dirt road (Chemin Echo Dale) when you get to the pit. Stacie's driveway is the first driveway on the right, which is half a click from the highway.

It is a long driveway, and you can't see the house until the end of the driveway
(if you have 4 wheel drive you might like to use it now). Park when you get to the house.

Hope you guys have fun on Saturday! I will not be there.

The latest Gobbler-dar report has 10 cm of snow on the ground.

1 cm is expected Thursday, and the temperatures will be below freezing all week.

Ribbon if you got'em.

Gobbles might get insulted. He's a young guy. Probably doesn't need Viagra.

New snow fell last night in the Wakefield area, so that was a wise move, Madame.

I'm getting a full Gobbler-dar report in the next couple of hours.

@OttawaDGC is also keeping 613/819 golfers in the loop.

Wasn't a ton, but maybe a significant disc losing amount. Pictures are up on @OttawaDGC

(A disc was lost in the snow at Kanata two weekends ago. On the fairway.)

Ribbon your discs.

Players don't want to look for your non-ribboned disc every hole you feel you need the extra 20 feet gained from not ribboning your disc.

Best time to ribbon your discs is the night before.

Bring your discs indoors for an hour to let them warm up. This will help with the tape adhesion.

There are a myriad of ways to tape your ribbon to your disc so we're not going to get into that now.

But, make your ribbon at least 1m long. Short ribbon won't stay on top of the snow. To long a ribbon and you step on your ribbon as you throw, and then you don't have ribbon anymore.

Once ribboned, put your bag back outside or the garage for the night. Warm discs collect snow and cause build up and Epic type throws.
