For those with dogs I would suggest getting blood test during your annual checkup, even if tested positive for Lyme there is only a 1-2% chance of Lyme infected dogs ever actually develop Lyme disease. And spend the few dollars on Revolution to help prevent anything negative.

As an owner of two field dogs, one of which had lyme disease. i prefer to use AdvantixII. Revolution is systemic - stays in the body at least a month. The flea has to bite the dog to die and can pass the disease before they die.
Thought with AdvantixII you still need to use another med for heartworm. _________________ Ice Bowl is the only good thing with February. |

Its Tick season again.

Check yourself carefully after you have been out in the woods and long grass. Mountain, Ettyville, Shire, Alcove and CF are all potential areas to pick them up. Even Kanata is a possibility I suppose.
Health Canada recommends long pants, socks, and long sleeves.
I have a tick key that I picked up at MEC for very little. I keep one in my golf bag and another in my camping gear.
Be vigilant. Lyme Disease is no joke. _________________ meh |

Some more goodl info.
There's some good maps and things to know. More north you go the less the risk. I suppose with warming weathers we'll have more of an issue around here from this.
Our disc golf area is apparently not a hot spot for Lyme Disease yet where as Kingston is (according to the maps).
