I'll be going to the Drummondville Doubles tournament on June 18. It's a fun event on a relatively new fun course. Nice fairways, fun greens, place to open up and place to shape your shot.

Last year I set up a Daredevil Discs tent and I hope to do the same this year.

Not sure but I'm guessing it involves gambling.

I played in this last year and it was just a simple Best-Disc-Doubles. I'm assuming it's the same this year.

(I did find a a Vegas style golf game, but there's no way it's this. Way to complicated and involved for what Drummondville is trying to do--get players playing)

Do you pick your partner or maybe is that the Vegas part. You get a random pro/am pair from the hat, same as we do at Ice League.

I've emailed Phil for clarification, but if it's the same that it's been for the past 2 years, it's bring your own partner for Best-Disc.

I played with my daughter last year; http://www.odgc.ca/forums/viewtopic.php?t=11873

Prices are for teams and not individuals, as well.

Sounds risky when you throw the term "Thumber" into the equation.

Got the reply and it is Best-Disc-Doubles WITH Mulligans. AND it's a PDGA event with points to be earned (if you're into that sort of thing).

Orientated very much to the newbies and to kids. The Ring of Fire last year was a blast (aren't they all?).

Another fantastic event in Drummondville. I switched out my daughter for Ben and we had a blast. (had a blast with Emma too!)

A really fun course with EVERYTHING! Elevation, slippery greens, short technical, OB riddled, wooded, big drives, annie drives... Fun, fun, fun. Plus the people are superb.

CTPs on EVERY hole. And every hole was sponsored (Daredevil Discs sponsored TWO holes, both teepads, whole team). Sponsors came from all walks of life: for example, a mattress store, a dried food company and John Deer.

Last year there was two of us from O-town. This year there was 3; Svets, me and Mario. Next year we need to bring more teams from Ottawa!

For the record, Ben and I shot a 55 first round (good for dead last) and a 48 in the second (good for a 5 place movement up; and the best score posted in the first round). We played the first round longs blind and learned a ton. Second round we were playing to our capabilities. Next year we are gunning for first place. being evil

This event is a must and it's only 3 hours away. We were home by 8:30.

So. Much. Fun.

This year they went with Discraft for their players pack discs, so I didn't set up a "store" but I did bring up a bunch of Pinkies and Ebonies for throws and comments.

It didn't die, just moved to the end of the summer (September 3) and a different course, Golf Monty in Drummondville.

The Battle of Voltigeur will take place in June (3rd).

I will be probably going to this. 5 am departure for a 8 am arrival
