BBP,
Could you please comment on the various plastic types in terms of grippyness and durability.
Thanks |

Alas,
I've seen those web pages. They describe the discs themselves but not the properties of the plastic so much. |

Not so much, indeed. Here's what I've learned, Claus.
Flex Performance
Timberwolf (orange), Moose (yellow and white), Yeti (white), Mammoth (white), Beaver (green)
These are grippy and flexible discs. You can bend them (and I am doing it right now) and they go back to almost their original shape. These are the better discs in the cold weather as they still have flex in them and don't feel like steel in your hand. I find the white ones more flexie than the yellow and orange.
They take a pretty good beating.
Grippier then Star.
High Performance
Sabertooth (yellow), Wolverine (yellow), Grizzly (black), Squatch (yellow)
These are more closer to Champion plastic than the FP. They are as stiff as Champion with the same feel to them. They feel a tad grippier than the few Champs I own, but not much. I wouldn't pick these as rain discs.
Like Champion plastic, HP plastic takes a beating and work themselves in moderately.
Grippy like a Star.
Grip Performance
Polar Bear (white), Swift Fox (yellow low weights), Caribou (red), Buffalo (orange low weights), Bigfoot (orange low weights)
These are in a higher end DX type of plastic. I say higher end as they can take more of a beating before changing its character on you. I've only thrown the Polar Bear for any of length of time that could really allow me to say that. I have Swift Foxes in the demo box that have been well loved by newbies and they look used but still dependable.
The lower weights are found in GP.
Grip Performance/Elastic Performance
Ogo and the Woodchuck
The Ogopogo EP is a different kind of disc. It has its uses. When it gets beat in, which doesn't take all that long, the disc becomes more understable. This plastic is NOT for a power thrower. Though the kids at school LOVE it (plus it doesn't seem to hurt when they get dinged) because it's easy to throw nice S shots. They can turn it over (to the right) and it always comes back hard. For a kid.
The Woodchuck is the same plastic with a more pointed name.
Both work well dripping wet.
My favourites? The white FP.

Should be noted:
- the Grizzly and Moose are the same mold. The Caribou has its own mold.
- the Buffalo and the Ogo are the same mold. The Sabretooth and Mammoth are the same mold. |

Weights don't vary as much as other companies. When a run is done they are all the same weight (within 1g). Daredevil isn't large enough yet to do several runs of discs to achieve a full spectrum of weights.
A new run of Sabertooths is happening as we speak. I'll find out what the weights are on them hopefully tonight. |
