We had a new player join us at Rec League last night and he decided to buy himself a set of Daredevil discs at the start of the round. Unfortunately the 2nd tee-pad was none too kind to him. He lost two discs to the fence. I'm not certain which ones but they would both be stamped with the Daredevil & ODGC logos. I had told him to put his contact details on the discs but all he wrote was "ME" I believe. I believe this is his initials Mark, but I don't know his last name. If you pick these up at the guard house try to get them to me and we'll see if we can get these returned to him. To further complicate matters he lives in Brockville, he and Corey drove up specifically to play Rec League with us so I feel bad for the guy that he lost two discs.

OMR do you have any more contacts details for Marc since you were on his card?

Just to add to the disc over the fence list:

Lachlan whom I played with last night threw his new Yellow Prodigy Proto D4 over the fence as well.

I told him I'd keep an eye out for it as he wasn't sure if he put his credentials on it.

Yes that's me, Mark Earle. I lost two drivers, one flourescent yellow and one brownish. They were both Daredevil ODGC discs. One I lost on the first throw and the others after 8 throws. Fun game, but tough (lol). I live in Brockville, but will make arrangements to pick them up. I had a great time and will be attending future ODGC events.
Cheers
Mark

Thanks Dan, I would really appreciate that as I got one throw with one and only a few more with the other. If you get them I'll pm you with my address.

That totally sucks. I threw one once and the other about 7 times. I can't help but feel that this was a total waste of $25, oh well.

Would you get upset losing golf balls?

Losing discs is part of the game. As you improve, you lose less of them. It happens.

$25 wouldn't even cover the green fees for most ball golf courses so try to keep it in perspective.

Get some more and exercise caution when around things that can lead to losing them like hedges.

Throw flat

Well yes, but it can afflict old people too.

I had a yellow Wraith that had about 50 km on its odometer that suddenly drowned in a pond.

I still think about that disc.

I didn't want to depress him with tales of losing the ones you really love.

Like a certain glass-clear, rainbow stamped 150 firebird lost in Kanata. I never think about that one at all.

I think I found one of these...brownish yellow ODGC/ Daredevil stamp with stylized "ME" initials on the back. Not sure I can get it to Dan before next week but I do plan on being at both the the Plaid Jacket and Falling Colours tourney. You'll get it back...

I have a favourite sitting in a tree in Flag Staff. It was so wedged in there, and about 40-50 feet in the air. We hit it dead on with a half fille Nalgene several times and it didn't even flinch. A tear was shed. But another $20 was laid down. Such is life as a disc golf rock star.

During my first year playing, I lost 20 discs in a two-day tournament.

If you end up really liking a specific disc/weight combination, I suggest you buy a back up or two so you always have one available. For this reason, I also try not to rely on limited-run plastic.

Yes Adamsm, that's one of them. I'm really hoping to make it to The Plaid, just have to get approval from the boss (wife).
