Is five acres enough for a small nine hole course even though PDGA suggests one acre per hole?

sure, as long as you can live with cross overs and a short course

Google Earth estimates The Shire at just over 3 acres. (not including the neighbour hole)

While it is a compact layout, it still plays great with 3-4 groups out there in the league layout.

If I remember correctly , Twirly told me the Shire is 6 acres

What's the basis of the question spike?

I have been looking for land for two years now within two hour drive from Ottawa and well I was just wondering what size would accommodate a nine hole course.

5 acres of wooded land would fit a nice 9 hole course.
