Interesting, but why make the fence taller? Why even make a fence? Just for the esthetics? That would make sense. But the fence isn't needed if it's just the door that you need to hit.

I think I figured it out.

Quote:
At the wall’s ends, mando string runs the width of the hole, so if players miss the wall completely, they’ll be making a visit to one of two drop zones, placed 45 feet from either side of the gap’s opening.

So the added height actually helps you, as the higher wall will keep players from missing the wall completely. Neat.

Better learn how to throw short rollers...

The wall is needed so people that just miss know they missed. Otherwise some players would feel free(dom) to argue they had actually made the mando. Seems a touch gimmicky to me

And I just witnessed someone do just that. Nice roll up.

German crusher, Simon Lizotte, took the US Distance crown with a throw of 648 feet.

Others throwing far enough to make the Saturday distance showcase were: David Wiggins Jr. of High Point, N.C. (639’), Juho Parviainen of Finland (594’), and Jeremy Koling of Indian Trail, N.C. (573’).

Good for Stevie Brinster for winning the USDGC.

His first major win in 20+ years of playing DG.

Very close, David Greenwell said it was the most exciting USDGC he's ever seen. He said Wow about a thousand times during the broadcast, people do drinking games whenever David says Wow and whenever Crazy does something crazy.

That was solid coverage. I enjoyed it tremendously. Need to figure out how to get it on my TV.
