I can't go another day. Andros said he'd make the post, but now he's off to Screaming Heads and really, I can't make you wait until Tuesday to hear the great news.

We walked (carted) the Canadian on Tuesday to make sure nothing was added (or taken) to the white ball course that would seriously change the way the Plaid 18 is played (we also made the RE/MAX Super6, but I'll talk to that later).

There were some early differences. Hole 2 is having a drainage system put in. It seems to be coming right down the creak. There are some big plastic pipes off to the side, but no big issues. They did cut a beauty of a hole in the guard trees and bushes, which is going to make it look very pretty from the tees. Hole 2 will stay the same.

We saw little changes on the drive through 4-10; 5's pond side grasses have been given steroids and are about 6' tall; the little white fence/rope on 7 is gone; and 9s fairway seems to be rollier. 11-13 have no changes in the foliage.

14.

There was always this little bush that shot up right in front of the tee pad. We've managed to squeeze around it, but this year the steroids from 5 have leached all the way over to 14 and the line is gone. Gone. The only route is to go flick or annie style and really, it looks super boring.

14 got some bum reviews last year.

- #14 was too short IMO. Saw many 2's on that hole with relatively poor drives

- 14 is getting a bit old with water on the right (9,11,16 all have right side water traps).

Hole 14 also came in second last in both ratings.

Did I mention it's unplayable?

So we changed it.

Hole 14 is now a par 4. Same green. New elevated teepads. And some great air bunkers.

This is a great hole for a white ball course. The pine tree air bunker is 360' from the yellow tee and 290' from the blue tee. Perfect.

The pine tree squeezes the fairway and brings the pond into play for the agressive players. But there is a safe route to the left of the air-bunker-tree, but the up shot will make you think.

Other good things about the move;
- better teepad - we're using the white ball pad and we're not on the bump, which is the only decent area of ground for a pond side tee.
- better set of throws - the drive has to do something more than just be a disc golf throw, the up-shot will be fun and we still use a nice hill side green
- better flow - we come down the path from 13 and the WB pads are right there. No more crossing the grass to get the pond; we'll throw there.

I think this is a better golf hole and a better throwing hole. We'll find out on Plaid Sunday.

Oh. The pond is back in all it's water glory.

We also looked at a RE/MAXSuper 6 that would be more exciting to watch.

Five of the 6 holes have water elements, and the one that doesn't has to cross an OB WB green.

We also made it end at regular Plaid 16, which is the perfect green to finish on.

Here's a quick map of the all three pads.

Plaid 2013

Scratch tells you the score you should strive for and is measured in strokes. Slope tells you how difficult the shots are, where below 113 is easy, and above is more difficult.
