An early event website.

The directions. Only 2 hours and 45 minutes. Not as far as Sherbrooke (which I drove in the AM to make the Lost in Lennox).

Held on an old ball golf course. Permanent nine hole course.

9's green looks fun.

I'm heading down in the AM. Leaving ~5. I'll have one with me. Can carpool two more if we meet in the Southend (read: Ben's).

You come in to that hole from about 8:00, which leaves the shallow water on the left an easy hit for a circle 3 or a lucky 2 when it lands on the grass or the bank.

Thanks for the early post Geoff. Here is an english version of the webpage:
https://sites.google.com/site/interdiscgolf/home/english/tournaments
Not all the info is in yet as we continue to hammer them out.
Here are some pictures of the course that won't make you jump out of your seat but do give you an idea. For lots of the experienced players , this is their favorite course. I think it's special for those throwing 350 +....there is risk, but if you get it right , your in happyland.
https://sites.google.com/site/interdiscgolf/home/parcours

It is a C-Tier, and you'll notice the fee's are a little higher. Were workng hard to make sure you get a player pac that surpasses the value of the added PDGA inspired fee.

We will have exclusive use of the course which will allow us to create a few temporary holes. The design and logistics will be worked out soon. But for now there is a 60 player cut. More details to come.
You can register here or at discgolf@videotron.ca
This tournament is the Finals of the QDGT and there is a $2.00 fee that kept by the QDGT for victory patches and trophies. There is no retention of benefit.

Because he's not on here terribly often, I'll throw this up for him. Mr. BBP, can you hold one of those carpool slots for Junior Feldberg? I know he is looking for a ride. I'll tell him to PM you directly.

Thanks!

Is the course only 9 holes? The field is capped at 64 I believe. How would that work?

It is a 9 hole course with a practice basket...making for 10 holes. There is a new hole between #5 and # 6 that will be permanent soon but most likely a temp during the event. Then there is the driving range this time ( all ours, closed for the day)...3 holes for sure...possibly 1-2 more. There is no club or qualified person up there to take care of the design, hence the delay in finalizing.

Right now I am planning on 14 holes for sure....brace yourselves.....5 players X 14 holes = 70 players. I've ran 5 events there and the last 3 had 5 per hole due bonus popularity. Everything went well and stayed on schedule. Its not ideal but it's in keeping with what this whole thing is about...growing the sport. A reminder, being somewhat open this course lends itself to rapid play and minimal searches for wayward shots.

Also of note, we always play 18 differant holes on the 9 hole course, different tee-off markers at each hole ( hole #1 is the same fairway as #10 and so on) It is quite possible that the temp holes will not have 2 sets, meaning that they will be played the same each time. The same goes for the am Pads.

I'm holding 5 spots...as I do in most tournaments. The spots are held until the day before in case some players who are competing for 1st place can't commit early on. If need be, the spots would be released to a would be waiting list...it's not really expected to go there.

There will be lots of added prizes, and the money breakdown goes like this.

Taken out of every entry fee : The standard QDGT $10.00 ( $2.00 to the QDGT which will go directly to the PDGA as a ' per Player' fee. $8.00 goes to the golf course for green fee's) $10.00 goes to PDGA Canada for non-member fee's....current members will have a $10 discount from the posted entry fee's. What's left goes to prizes and will be the same amount, same payout that we had for the whole series. PDGA Canada has in the past donated 2 cheques for $500.00 for the purchase of practice baskets in the province. One of those baskets is in Montreal and 1 after a short stint in Sherbrooke is now on loan to the Albatroz course.

While I'm here, and still pumped on my coffee... I'm pleased to announce that the new PDGA Rep in the province-QC has been voted in. Pat Huot is Monsieur PDGA. congratulations : ) He is known to love the Gatineau region and plans on adopting a dog called Outaouais.

I signed up yesterday and have room for 2-3 more. Leaving from the east end or from somewhere agreeable that is not too far out of the way. Send me a PM or post on this thread.

It's a good time of the year to bring your PDGA membership back as well, since the tournament is on Oct. 12th, and you get a 14-month membership (and a $10 reduction in your fees for this tournament) if you join up after Oct. 1st.
