Widener Park (Chili) is a great course to play. They took over a rectangular farmers field and built a really fun DG course. Took several years, but they did it right.

Never played Parma.

Apparently they don't play Ellison. (No city rec department should ever be allowed to see the Ellison teepads...ever)

Took my first competition double-circle-snowman on Ellison. Ah. Good times.

Also made the Epic an epic story.

I really enjoyed Ellison and Chili.

Absolutely detested Basil Marella. Heard they've done a lot of improvements over the last 10 years, though.

This is a new course, but it is a gem. A mix of long shaped field shots and old growth forest. Very cool course.

I roadtripped to the roc (yeah that's where the disc got its name) a few years ago and loved it. From what I recall, pre-reg is not part of the culture there. It's just a given...

I have the 1999 Worlds Championships, held in Rochester, on VHS. And now you can watch it sans VCR...

Same dude from Basil keeps sinking all his putts.

Hole 5 is THE thumber hole (about 2:15 into the vid). Threw the Epic.

Check out the flick dude's "jump/run" putt at 4:20. Then he flick putts the next hole.

Kick putt at 6:40.

Tons of fun stuff.

Man, this video might be the best camera work I've ever seen in a DG vid. It's amazing what a tri-pod can do.

As always, the RFDO was a solid tournament with amazing people all around.

If things work according to plan, you will be a fool if you miss the 40th next year! Looking at potentially two weekends (Am & Pro) at two of the best courses in New York. There is also a good chance they could be the largest tournaments within a 4 hour drive of Ottawa too...

So get your passports now (Andros) and get ready for an awesome weekend next year!

Just as a follow up. 6 open players participated in this event. They did manage attendance of 105 for the event though.

I got the whole story from Tony on what happened to the Pros.

The PDGA scheduling of Worlds screwed with the normal weekend for the RFDO and they only could have been an A tier in the summer. Since they lost their A tier status for the year, all of the touring pros went elsewhere. Last year they had Wysocki, McBeth, Jenkins, etc.

They do have high hopes of an A/NT level event on two weekends (Pro & Am.) Which could be very very awesome.
