Oddly enough I picked up a half dozen at Worlds as well. For me they are a tweener that might kick out Valkyries and Leopards from my bag. Great for long turnovers that resist rolling and glide for miles. They need a bit of height though to get big distance. If you hyper flip them right, they fly just like a TL.

100% agree.
Its the gorgeous candy opto plastic that is what made me fall for it.

I've been loving the Latitude 64 River:

I've been enjoying a bunch of the Latitude drivers on the driving range: Blitz, Halo, Riot and Villian.

Very nicely made discs.

Another interesting flight characteristic of the River is its ability to be powered down well. The lines I've been throwing I can throw a great turnover for 250' as easily as 350'.

With my (low) throwing strength, I find the River akin to the Leopard, but with more glide. It's also my go-to turnover disc. Once broken in, it holds an anny line nicely with little fade at the end.

Shenannigans and threadjacking, I say.

Anyway, we had a small but dedicated crew this week, with no brand newbs at all. Greg the Sign Guy came out, but only lasted 9 holes before being chased off by what was really quite a dry rain, all things considered. I'm not saying you should mock him savagely for this next Shire Night, but I'm not not saying that either.

In other news, we did finally manage to give a prize for Most Improved Score. Leppy nabbed himself a sweet ODGC Stamped Daredevil Putter. You know the one I meant. It's the one named after a woodland creature.

Weirdsma decided to Multitask, Peterbagging his way to Best Raw Score and padding his Match League stats against some chump who shall remain Steve. For his efforts, he takes home an Avenger that I totally didn't spit on when he wasn't looking.

Our CTP for the night was 9 long, and I nabbed it through flawless execution of my cunning plan. Which was to suddenly make a throw that never works for me, and have it work for reasons that I can't even begin to guess at. And then to miss the birdie putt. Moo Hoo Ha Haa. Now that I've won TWO Gateway mystery discs at Rec League, I'll be unstoppable.

Scores:

Penton (And his trusty Buzzz): 51
Weirdsma (And his Greasy Flickaroo): 50
Leppy (And his black belt in Leppy Fu): 52
Steve (And his inability to come up with something funny to put here): 57

There you have it. Tune in next week to find out if Greg melted.
