I can not say enough good things about the service at MEC.

I bought a pair of high end merrells there in June, just before the Big Man.

They were awesome for that tourny and then for about a month after. Following that I started getting toe blisters from them. The toe box got tighter and tighter.

Took em into MEC on Friday, explained the situation and they took a look at the shoes. The service guy showed me where the toe rand had begun to shrink, thus explaining the tightness. They replaced the shoes at full value for any other shoe I wanted. I picked up the Goretex Garmont which have been great.

Support MEC for your outdoor gear needs folks...they stand behind what the sell. i have no idea how they make money like this but they sure do stand behind their products.

I've been an avid member there for years. In particular, I get all my cycling gear there. They have exceptional support for their products.

An update:

My 3 month old garmonts split last week. This was the 4th pair of shoes from the first post last year about the shrinking toe box. I have been having blow out issues like crazy

Took them in to MEC tonight and they gave me store credit for the full price of the garmonts

I switched up to a pair of Solomon's to see if they will hold up better. there was also a pair of Keen urban shoes on deep discount for $29.99

So all told, from my initial purchase last year, i am now on pairs 5 and 6....4 pairs replaced

what a return policy

Yes, I still swear by MEC.

When it comes to outdoors footwear, the only brand I'm using now is Zamberlan. You can't beat them. The all-leather models are still hand crafted in Italy.

You won't find a better ultimate disc (ultra-star) than that, especially at that low a price. Trust me.

I picked up the scarpa moraine gtx yesterday. Took them for a test run at fortune, they are awesome. $135, gortex with very nice and grippy soles.

Replaced my 5 year old salomons with these. IF you're looking for shoes, would recommend
