De La Soul claimed that 3 was the magic number. Obviously they didn’t play disc golf. The real magic number is 20.

Want to improve your game, gain more confidence and compete at the higher levels? Then all you have to do is hit all your twenty footers. Being confident in the twenty foot circle helps you approach; just lay it up within twenty. It helps you with your drives off the tee; just land it in the twenty foot circle. It helps you with the 60 foot hero attempts; you can always make the twenty foot comeback.

Making sure that you can routinely nail your twenty footers will see your scores and handicap come down and your ratings go up.

The big question is how do you get better at your twenty footers?

We all know what’s coming. Practice, practice and more practice. 20 minutes a day for 20 days and you’ll be sinking 100% of your 20 footers. And finding twenty feet around your home isn’t that hard. This winter, set up a basket in your garage, your hallway, your backyard…wait.

You don’t have a basket?

Well, do we have a deal for you!

The ODGC is opening up its Members Basket Rental service again! Current ODGC Members will be given the opportunity to take home a CF basket for the winter to love and to hold and to call it George.

Here's the deal.

Each basket you rent for the winter costs $20.

You will be assigned a basket to remove from the LNFCF course, and assigned a basket to install for the 2013 CF course (for example, Person A removes LNFCF9 and re-installs CF5).

If you can't re-install your basket in the spring, for an extra $30, it will be installed for you. You must contact Eric “Disco Rico” Vinet, and arrange to have the basket returned at least 7 days before the posted install day. Eric’s doorstep is the preferred location for drop off.

You are responsible for the basket. It was in top shape in the fall, and it needs to be returned in top shape come spring (including nuts, bolts, stand, t-bar, etc). Be aware of its value. If you think the basket may get stolen, store it in your house or garage when not in use. If the basket does get stolen or damaged, the renter must refund the club the price of a new target.

Familiarize yourself with the by-laws of the City and other property owners and respect them. The Club takes no responsibility for any damage or fines that might arise from your usage.

For $20, and only 20 minutes a day, for 20 days, you’ll own the 20 foot circle. Twenty really is the magic number. Yes it is. It’s the magic number.

To get started on improving your game, please contact Disc Rico before they all go.
